    Well I haven't reinstalled it yet. The update itself erased the pattern data in the demos. And my projects as well (they were only using factory samples). But as I said, not a big deal for me personally, and that you guys are already on it is all that matters! :)

  • @BastienCo, Just so you know from a diagnosis perspective, I have not had any if the problems that some of the others have had. After updating to 1.01, all 17 of my patterns and songs remained intact. I was ony using factory packs (I purchased extra packs); and everything is working fine. I am running iOS 8.1.3 on an iPad Air2.

  • @BastienCo I respectfully disagree with @ElGregoLoco, I think it's an app that allows for quick work, especially when used in concert with others. However, I'm pretty choked that it's taken a step backwards by way of some poor execution and forethought with the new release and poor communication after the mistakes were made. New apps have a limited amount of user-capital and Beathawk has just gone into debt.

    Thanks very much for coming on here and addressing the issues very clearly. It\s very good to be able to post a bug on a 3rd party forum like this and have the dev come over and address the issues in person. Most appreciated by people like me who are way too lazy to figure out how to contact the dev directly :).

    It's good to know the 'sandbox' bug will be fixed. I'll just keep a look out for the update. As soon as it's fixed i'm gonna buy the funk pack :).

    • Theses problems where nested in 1.0 and exploded due to version updating. we did not add issues in 1.0.1. It would have happened even if we posted the 1.0.1 with same code as 1.0. This issue is just a matter of days (2/3) before it gets updated and fixed, I am working hard and late on it. There will be more fixes (IAA and AB) in next version too. Stay tuned :)

    Don't get me mixed up with @JohnnyGoodyear - he's a very different animal :). An animal that likes to pump out about 5 great BeatHawk tracks - complete with videos - in the week it came out.

    I just wanna buy some sample packs cos I like spending money :)

      • The second issue, Is this "Sandbox environment", It seems that the app did not have the proper certificate.. this is supposed to be checked by apple during the application review, I did not see it..

    We are going to do a "expedited review" with apple to fix all this very fast.

    Its probably worth mentioning that any timestretched loops that i reload do not have that information protected.....ie: i have to redo the time stretch again :( in addition to reload the samples to play as they did originally...

    Chin up BastienCo - the future for BeatHawk is looking very cool IMO :)

    I sure appreciate the effort going in, and know what a ballache it is when, in spite of your best efforts, things go pear shaped. (Try troubleshooting dairy process code with 30 angry tanker drivers waiting for you to get your shit together lol)

  • Thanks so much for your hard work and for awesome app. I appreciate all the work that went into this update. It will never satisfy everyone but this app is only going to get better.
    One issue I did notice while switching pads, sometimes if I'm playing the pad or sound on that pad, it stays playing even after I select another one. But, if I don't send midi note data to it, in other words not touch my keys, then switching pads sounds work perfectly. What could this be?

    We can convert your project files if you send them to our support, so it will work on the new version. Only send your ".song" file. Otherwise, you can reload your sample on the pad. However, the problem will persist until the new version is released with the fix.

    The same for me, my projects have timestretched loops and also clipped from larger samples (information lost when reconnecting samples again) so there's quite a bit of fiddly work to get back to the same state as before. However I luckily exported stems from my projects so I have the audio to work with in Auria just not the patterns in Beathawk.

    @BastienCo So am I right in saying these projects will open properly once the next update comes out? (with timestretching and edits back to normal)
    It's not the end the end of the world for me if not but would be great if so....

    Btw I think it's a great app, has a fast and fun workflow and it's potentially a "keeper" in my workflow, but hope it gets further improvements after fixing the gremlins :)

  • Is Beat Hawk working well with Audiobus for people? If using with a DAW, which one?

    How do you tell how many "playable instruments" are included with each potentially IAP sound pack? I was kind of disappointed to buy a couple packs to have a bunch of loops or multi note samples?

    I really only want to know the playable instruments for each IAP pack. It indicated # "presets" in sound bank purchase options, but, not sure what exactly means. No manual with information has been located.

    My ideal recom. for UVI would be a IAA and the ability to pay another synth app inside Beat Hawk and record it there. Just as the instruments options from the UVI packs. Or maybe, UVI use some of their more quality synths. They are all basic SAW or Overdrive sounding. Not very diverse.

    @RustiK, Presets are indeed multi sampled instrument.

    @JohnnyGoodyear, for sure we don't mind selling packs especially given the app itself price which is quite a bargain, but hopefully we will prove that we want to please different kind of users.

    @Schimanski, it should be fixed in 1.0.2 that will be posted today. Hopefully Apple will review it quickly. Sorry about the inconvenience.

    What kind of packages/instruments would you guys like to see being released ?

    FWIW, we have released the guitar blues package mostly because the previous Guitar packages was one of the best selling IAP, so looks like some people wanted that :)

  • @otristan Have no problem with pack-selling, it's your business. I think they're a little over-priced, but then I think the prosciutto I buy is expensive, but I still prefer it to spam :)

    More concerned about the problems. Hope the fix fixes them!

    I also believe (moving forward) that a steady -even if slow- addition of features -even if small- will help encourage your customers, who have already spent money with you, to keep doing so....

    I really like your app as I lets you work smooth and get things down quick.
    I will mostly use it to play live, sort of like a hardware synth ROMPLER.
    So having more instrument preset is always so welcomed. Like bread and butter sounds. Multisampled synth Pads with bellish sounds all mixed in. Sort of that Korg Trinity Synth type of sounds! Hammond organ sounds, Voice and strings Pads, all these type of sounds are really used I church worship live service. So having presets like these is so awesome. There's an awesome thick luscious string patch in the EDM pack that I will be using this coming Sunday.
    Only thing that concerns me a bit right now, is that some keys het stuck when selecting different pads while performing. This happens in pad mode, mute pad mode, which is the one I really love as the pads font make any noise when touched. This is cool cause I'm using an Axiom mini 32 midi controller. But the notes wont stick if I delay the pad switching just a bit. Really hard to do though if your playing live.

    @Musikman4Christ, are you mixing pressing keys on your MIDI keyboard and changing selected pad while still pressing some key down (which by default changes where the MIDI is sent) ?

    If yes, then, that would explain your issue.
    Your best bet would be to untoggle "MIDI Input - Send to Selected Pad" and change MIDI channel on your MIDI keyboard.

  • My midi preferences are as follows:
    Midi input- send Omni- unchecked
    Midi input midi select- checked
    Midi input send to selected pad-checked

    Regarding pressing keys while switching pads. Yes that's how I do it. But I do that with all my synths. I don't really know how to have my midi controller send individual midi channel outs so I just leave it at default.
    I did notice that I I wait a second or so after selecting pad, I don't hit any notes on my keys, then the sound of the previous pad wont stick and the newly selected pad works perfectly.

    I forgot to mention that at church we use the Motif and programming that thing with that tiny screen is horrible!
    I would rather have the software allow me to just use one midi out of my controller as default and do the switching inside the app if possible. That would be so awesome! But will try your idea. Don't know how feasible it will be as the Motif is hard to understand. I totally bypass it and use my iPad for all my synth sounds for live worship playing.

    Yep the issue here is that only the newly selected pad receive the note off and not the previous one with the triggered note. The fix is tricky though. Will send a bug description to the dev

  • Awesome! Thanks so much. Will try to figure out. Actually its pretty cool that the sound of the previous pad naturally decays. Its a feature that many synths don't do and many people request it. I know that Sunvox does let the sound of the previous patch naturally decay. I actually love this feature. If you could allow the pad to naturally decay as the new one is selected that would be so awesome. So she I select the new pad it sends a note of to the previous pad but it lets its sound not die out instantly but decay naturally. That would be so awesome!

    Ah - it seems fixed now. No sandbox popup anyway.

    It's allowed me to buy the Funk pack just now.

    I'm just hoping it's now downloading all my IAPs - looks like it is - it's chugging away.

    And yes - I do use Testflight.

  • I have the same issue,bought almost all packs but can only see a few of them.
    But otristan (see above) said this should be fixed with the next update.
    By the way,I really like this app,sounds great and has a great workflow for me,that's why
    I purchased almost all packs.But with this bug it's just unusable.
