I'm sure there is a lot of legal mumbo jumbo preventing the ex-employees of Camel Audio to come out with anything remotely close to Alchemy 2, CamelSpace, CamelPhat, etc etc but...with the huge bank rolls maybe in a couple of years our beloved devs will come out with exciting new super software!
I wonder if Alchemy, in what ever form it takes, will also be integrated or added as an extra to Apple's MainStage on the Mac? For someone like me, who sprang for three DAW's on the Mac (Digital Performer, Live and Garage Band); and have also purchased MainStage (a great bargin); I find no need to add Logic Pro to my arsenal. Besides I am trying to focus on iPad music making. It would be neat if Alchemy was added to MainStage.
We already know that @Sebastian, but thanks for another piece of the puzzle we can speculate over.
@bsantoro, yes I think it will get into Mainstage, I think it's been acquired to compensate for the sampler in Logic mainly, it's not had really much TLC, doubt it will replace It though as Logic's library relies so heavily on it, and as for effects then how about AppleFat, AppleLostInSpace?
I didn't know that. So,thanks for the info Sebastian
I like the comment Apple destroys everything. Not. Oh the irony of that statement from an iOS muso steeped in Apple gear? One thing I've learnt with tech is not to let your choices be clouded by political thinking. A recipe for heartache. Tech business is big business and thank the man upstairs for Apple.
A friend at work here in London says he hates Apple because they are American and too restrictive! I said Apple protects intellectual property so no they won't let you download that latest song for free like he does on his Samsung galaxy. I asked him whether he would love to work for free. The penny then dropped. There is a logic to Apple's madness.
On another note, those Camel guys can now freely get the bubbly out. It's a win win situation.
They told me yes. As soon as the next update happens.
That is what the email says...........for what its worth. That was a week ago.
Ah thanks @RustiK that would be good news.
Huh what @Rustik? :-) Who emailed whom about what now? And what update? Do spill the beans!
At first I was surprised that Marcos got a non-audio desk at Apple. Then I thought of how amazingly fluid Samplr is to use...That app is close to perfect.
Until July 7th, or if I hear otherwise before then, I am going to be optimistic and believe that that my all-time-favorite-app-best-friend-coolest-thing-ever (Alchemy Mobile ) will arise from the ashes in some form on the App Store. Until the Apple news hit, I had been depressed (selfishly for me, not the employees, etc.) about the demise of Camel Audio. Alchemy Mobile is the catalyst app that really got me into iOS music making. And I still use it on a very regular basis.
Long live Alchemy Mobile Synth!
Let's hope not!
Rumours abound 'iCar' prototype?
I too wish to see Alchemy rise like the phoenix. While Figure got me hooked on making music on iOS, it was Alchemy that opened my eyes to the power of iOS production.
Nice
It's not unusual for Apple, Google etc to buy smaller tech organisations as a talent as well as product acquisition process, and then sit on them for a long time, producing either a result or no result. You've heard of Twitter? Remember Jaiku? Initially they were similar ideas and contemporaneous but Google bought Jaiku and sat on it (using parts of it in Buzz). Who knows which way things go. The talent aquisition side of it reminds me of how all the top achievers kept disappearing, in Atlas Shrugged.
Reference received and approved. ;-)
The email I got last week let me know that the recovery of library packs instructions to restore with the coming "secret" update. (srs)
Hmmm.
Sounds decidedly ponderous?
