I just recorded it live into Cubasis without the help of song mode. It really needs an intro though, perhaps the little piece from the end would work for that.

  • This is an awesome drum machine but the snare still gets machine gunny. I hope at some point there's a solution to that, but still, for practicing along to this is fantastic. The variations keep it very interesting.

  • You do have the ability to control the snare in several ways. You have volume control as well as three different samples to choose from and you can also use two or three different snares from various kits by chaining the pattern to the kits. User patterns and how you utilize the jam intensity also is very helpful in this regard, take the ( machine gun effect) which sounds very nice on its own or trim it to varying degrees how you see fit. I concentrated on doing this with toms for example in the above sample. Notice how the velocity and sound of the toms vary giving the live feel. You can do the same with bass, high hats crash or whatever you like in the same way. Good luck, with just a bit of work it is not hard at all. I recorded the above live direct into cubasis dry with no effects by the way.

  • Nicely done Mr. T.

Not so sure about dogs in sweaters, but that's probably a conversation for another day :)

  • @Tritonman

As promised, a quick piece put together as a result of your drum track (and with the help of Allen Ginsburg).

  • Now that was fun to listen to, my dogs like it also!

  • That was really cool! Nice team work!

  • Reminds me of Lost & Found (S.F.L.)

  • Thanks guys. It was fun and quick to do. Miss having a drummer :)

  • @Tritonman @JohnnyGoodyear Cool! Good work, sounds great! Thanks for sharing

could somebody please explain how to set the time signature on this. I found one brief post on it but it still can clear things up for me.could somebody give a little bit more in depth explanation are just tell me how I would do it for 3/4 and 6/8 time please.

Talking about time signatures... Press "New Groove" and:
    3/4 ... Choose 3 beats and 4 subdivisions. 6 bars and 4 subs for 2 bars rhythms.
6/8 ... To be theoretically correct, 6/8 is 2 beats with ternary subdivision. So you would choose 2 beats and 3 subs, but with 6 subs you can double subdivisionss for a proper 6/8 and have more rhythmic possibilities. I would use 4 beats and 6 subs to make more interesting, so you can make little changes in the second part of the bar. Technically it would be a 12 / 8 . Might even use 8 beats and 6 subs for two 12 / 8 bars. It depends on your needs.

There are a few rhythms using these times signatures:

    12/8 (BPM 50 - 85 )
    * Crazy (Shuffle bank)
    * Time Flies ( Progressive bank)

3/4 *Manic Depresion (with shuffle feel)

Some are old, some become without age etc.

Nearly choked on my microbrew at the mention of Ginsberg -
But the slow smile at the happy, honest and unintended connection delivering meaning/art/collaboration/what it's all about

Thank you both for that smile @johnnyGoodyear and @Tritonman
