Cool! Very glad to see it's easy now to choose a scale for the pitches on a patch. Thanks.

Thank you so much. This is by far one of my favourite apps. The new tuning makes life so much sweeter
Really love the potential of this. I was going to ask the question of why no midi sync for the sequencer? But then I got my answer here: http://www.kevinschlei.com/updates/?p=323
I look forward to that when it arrives
IS THE BEST APP FOR IPAD, SURE :-)
This is immense.
Planning on devoting a weekend to exploring the new synth engine and writing wacky patches. I did a cursory playthrough last night and loved it!!
hehe now to the folks calling this the best iPad app....better than TC-Data? (I'm a huge fan of TC-Data and love that the controls and UI can be utilized to control any MIDI synth)
Tested it out by playing through an effect and recording into Garageband via AB - no glitches at all.
Fantastic update - better UI, huger performance boost.....very happy.
When a discount for TC-Dato, or maybe a Bundle?

Having some issues importing a large group of patches back into 1.2. Kevin is very responsive and is looking at it. Hope it gets sorted out. In the meantime, loving tc-11.
Looking at some of new tc-11 patches for inspiration with tc-data
Me too, not that I wouldn't be interested in making one, but I think I'm a bit incapable of. It's such a cool app. But ya, I can just play it and make some really cool sounds. Haven't even tried to come up with my own presets. That would cause me great headache and confusion.
So ya, get on that tutorial someone.
So can you not connect modules like TC Data or is it a bit more complex?
What do you guys want to see in a tutorial? I put together the Quick Tuning video to highlight one particular new feature, but I could have droned on about that for longer. Any features / basics in particular you want to see covered?
And again, I feel really bad about the patch crash thing. It's fixed (update already pushed and pending app review). Converting those old patches was like converting a science fair spaghetti bridge into the Golden Gate.
@BitShapeSoft I imagine you need to think of your tutes being for Goobers (me), Gobblers (folks who eat stuff up and want more) or Geniuses (those buggers who want to connect this app to their synapses directly and what's the algorhythm?).
We Goobers are keen but like things in pretty big font. We want to get our arms around the first 50 or 60 per cent so we get to the breakthrough-tell-me-more point (which is the same point we start telling our friends who are also goobers). Must be said that most of the tough guys around here are Gobblers racing up to Genius-status, but I thought I'd just put in a word for the little guy.
I haven't dared even look at TC 11 yet. TC data + gadget is already to much of a time suck.
I am 90% certain that I would love this synth, but even with the $5 discount, it still comes in at $32 (Aussie) and for me that is too much money for something I may not not find practical or enjoy interacting with, so please consider building a lite or demo version and help me down off this big fence. Thanks
Thanks for a great great update !! It is indeed a brand new app....the initial complexity is not as intimidating now :-).....
What a wonderful way to create and visualize the patches ......awesome work !!
I would request some detailed videos on how to create a simple patches from scratch...showing how to build arps ...create tonal harmonies and then bring the multi touch and other controllers into picture....it's so overwhelming now with so many things that you can change that you might lost for hours trying to tame a single patch !!!....
I like the idea of transpose and got the hang of it but still it got messed up due to the various controllers ... I'll keep watching the videos to get the hang of it !!!
Thanks for the update and all the hard work....this was and continues to be a trendsetter just for the UI design itself !!!
That would certainly be an incentive...
I would love to see an appendix or some description in the guide (for both TC-11,Data) for things like "*" vs "***" as it relates to touch, controllers, triggers, etc. Same for when I see the "up arrow" or "down arrow" (which are hard to understand when to use in TC-Data as well). Some good info on the * vs. *** was recently shared in this forum.
I really enjoy your videos BTW:) Was that you playing Transona Lead?
Forgive the standard ignorance here Mister Matt, but when you invoke TC and The Gadge are you recording the former into the Abu of the other?
Some Tutorial Videos on the web site have "been removed by the user"... Are they being replaced?
What @JohnnyGoodyear said plus SLOW DOWN. I had to watch the assigning a key part of that Quick Tuning video 4 times before I figured out which part of the screen I was supposed to be watching. Honestly there is so much going on visually in your videos that you need to focus the user on what is actually being manipulated. Also a bit more commentary would help.
Great update and I would be more than happy to see a video of you droning on about Quick Tuning.
I would love some tutorial vidios that go a bit slower that the Quick Tuning video. Also a "how to build a basic patch from scratch" might be a good thing to work through?
Yes, a 'patch from scratch' video would be good, and if you could go into how some of the controllers work
and interact with each other, that would be great. The basic concept of the top line of each controller is obvious (eg. dragging/touching here does this), but when you start getting to the third and fourth lines of a particular module, and controllers are reacting to each other with various from and to points for each one, it can get very complicated. Maybe a video showcasing different uses could be good? I realise that's what the patches do, but breaking down a couple from scratch and exploring the possibilities could be great.
Many people will want to set up melodic patches, so a separate tutorial on the sequencer and the tables would be helpful.
I too am confused with the * and ** stuff. And aren't there arrows in some controller descriptions? Some explanation of these would be cool, too.
TC Data doesn't produce any sound at all. It produces midi notes and midi cc data - driven by crazy touch based templates you can design yourself.
So I'm saying that I'm enjoying creating some cool control templates and using them to control Gadget via midi.
Can someone shed light on the granular oscillator - does that use a sample, and how smooth are the results? Although there are a whole bunch of things that can be controlled, the actual wave shape does not appear to be one? I'm sitting on the fence at the moment, worried about being lost in a sea of complexity...
+1 for slow, basic tutorials. I bought both 11 and Data despite having pretty much no clue where to even start because I wanted to support someone using the ipad as a new kind of instrument. A series of beginner, intermediate and advanced tutorials would be so helpful. I would chuck a dollar or two a month into Patreon for that. I love playing around with the patches but often find myself playing an interesting phrase, repeating it and finding I'm now triggering different pitches. I want to learn but I'm time poor. Videos would really help
Ya, this would be very helpful, and what @Michael_R_Grant mentioned too.
