I bought Affinity Designer a couple of months back after seeing it mentioned on here, and use it as an Illustrator replacement. Just finished creating a series of logos for clients with it and it's been rock solid. Recently grabbed the Photo beta from their site and have been completely blown away by it - the closest thing to Photoshop I've found (including Adobe Elements). I'll buy the full version the day it's released - love it.
They're also working on a publisher DTP thing as well - if it's as good as Designer and Photo it'll be the final nail in the coffin for overpriced Adobe kit, and with the two grand I save I can get a copy of Cyclop.
I've been moving away from adobe stuff the last few years, even tho they have been doing some fantastic work, bought hype to replace flash but haven't done any proper sessions with it yet, my beloved has signed up to creative cloud so I'll probably dip into a few things now and then, especially after effects, always wanted to get to grips with it, but never found the time.
I'll probably grab affinity photo, liking what I've seen after a little play, just can't believe how cheap a lot of the creative apps are compared to how it was before for quality tools, exciting times. Kind of wish I hadn't seen the cyclop vids, been playing on my mind, I'll get excited like I did with ego, get it and hardly use it.
That's what I'm worried about - used Egoist today, first time for weeks.
Still, even the cost of Cyclop pales into insignificance when I think of how much money I've given Adobe, Quark and Macromedia over the years!
