I need a Spectrum analyzer with IAA / AB support?
I need a Spectrum analyzer with IAA / AB support? Are there any?

I want something not too CPU heavy, something that can be loaded up in a master channel.
I'm planning in doing some sound design tutorials and it would be a good thing to have for my viewers, so that they can see the changes.
Does AudioMastering come close enough?
https://itunes.apple.com/app/audio-mastering/id640515541?ign-mpt=uo=4
app description says:
● Spectrum analyzer switchable between input and output.
Auria's Pro-Q has a built in analyser
Hi Jakob, this'll be my first post here; hi mom! and everyone here.
Is this suitable:
MC Analyzer by Sascha Bienert

I saw that this has been released a couple of days ago https://itunes.apple.com/app/id988756169?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo=8 Not sure if it's what you are looking for but looks interesting
I use Level.24. I don't think it's been updated for IAA, but it does support Audiobus.

For $9.99, I'm not too sure I'd purchase it if you just need a spectrum analyzer, but it also has a fairly robust EQ and Compressor/Limiter function, if you need that, too. I got it free in a contest, and I just use it for a Spectrum Analyzer, but it's my go-to, since it inserts very quickly in with other projects in Audiobus.
I'm very happy with Level.24.(it supports IAA).You could also check out this one,but the reviews are mixed „Analyzer“ von DSP Mobile

MC Studio
Great tips! Thank you everyone, I'll get into researching. If anyone else have more suggestions, feel free to add them!
Check out Spectral Eye and Spectral Eye Pro, from Secret Base Design (of several apps) cool circular display, the non-pro is free and both work in AB
These look great and the Oscilloscope looks especially fun. Has anyone tried them?
http://www.twiddlefactor.de/apps/
Yes you can get them in MC Studio that bundles them all. I use it quite a bit with my analog synths.

I usually strap AUFX PeakEQ across the master bus in Cubasis as it has basic spectrum view, a profile trace rather than bands but helps keep an eye on the overall shape of the mix while building up tracks.
http://appshopper.com/music/ax-7-oscilloscope looks promising for $1.
Or the other end of the spectrum (pun intended) weighing in at $78k and covering 3Hz - 50GHz...

@jakoB_haQ - digging this one out, just curious which solution you ended up going with, if any?
I use AudioMastering because that has quite a fully featured analyser.
+1 for this. Double tap the spectrum and it goes full screen. A handy app to have anyway.
How about options for the iphone? Are there any?
@eustressor I'm still researching this topic and I'm not satisfied with my findings so far. Nor have I come to any conclusion. But as soon as I do I'll make a haQ attaQ episode about it.
+1 to Tonal Energy and SBD's Spectral Eye. Both very novel ways to visualize frequency/energy.
If you use Logic, there's also the Logic Control app. Load an EQ into the master (piping the audio to logic first, natch) and then tap "analyzer" in the EQ view.
Has anyone find a good one? IAA or AB. It's been two years since Jakob started this thread. Anyone knows for a good spectrum analyser, (curve, bars etc)?
Maybe this...? Free also.....
Vectorscope by Ruben Nine
https://9labs.io/Vectorscope
also a free m/s processor....
https://9labs.io/MSProcessor
both with audiobus support
If anyone knows of any analyzers / oscilloscopes that include waveform video recording capture please do give a shout.
It's the most basic thing I can think of and for some reason there's only weird half assed solutions. How has no developer addressed this vacuum of good eq analyzer/monitor options yet? Apefilter and aufx:eq have frequency analyzers but even they feel a bit tacked on and not full featured
Also did you mean spectral or frequency analyzer?
We don’t have any good one, because is tool for professionals. They’re still underestimating iOS music production. I need AUv3 frequency analyzer badly!
I have a project in BM3 with a couple of instances of Zeeon, Poison 202 and Final y Touch in the master as IAA. It works but must open Final Touch first and then load the IAA.
I’m rather fond of the spectrum analyser in Virsyn’s Bark Filter. That’s AU.
Are we reviving this thread because MC Studio, one of the suggestions from 2 years ago, isn’t good enough? I’m asking as I purchased it a couple of weeks ago and have been happy with it. Main feature I was looking for was IAA/AB though of course AU would be nice today too.
