interesting, think I might check out Navichord looks great.

it looks like a much more user friendly version of Midi Mind which is not easy to use but is very useful. You can send each note of a chord to a separate channel and play it via a midi keyboard.

@Carnbot, chord splitting is cool, thanks for the idea :)

    What is chord splitting?

  • @Kaikoo, when you play a chord, each note goes to a MIDI different channel.
For example, imagine a major chord that sounds like that: root (Animoog), third(Magellan), fifth(Sunrizer).

  • Wow factor, hehe

monzo, Matt_Fletcher_2000, there is also separate Velocity setting for chords and piano. This way you can mute piano/chords even if the synth doesn't understand channels.

Nice feature - Ideally I'd like to record the chords into a channel in Auria using a piano or something keyboardy, and then (remembering and playing the chord sequence) record a second track and play the melody using a lead sound. The keyboard hints will save hours trying to work out melodies that fit.

  • @monzo, for your flow, I would recommend to play subset triads for the second run (when you add melody). For example, you record CMaj7 for the first run, then you play Cmajor for melody, Cmajor being a subset of CMaj7. Not only it is easier (one touch), but you get scale highlighting that matches your triad.

Ahhh ok, thanks for the tip :)

  • I love this App already but ...
Chord splitting / note dispatcher type options would be a great feature update.

  • Thank you all for your feedback and new ideas. I'm really enjoying this forum :)

@Navichord I think you must buy Captain @kaikoo a cup of tea. He somehow single-handedly revived/fired-up the crowd on this one :) Pleased he did....

Ha! you back, grab you Attach Drum Synth quick!

No worries, we have special deal under the hood! My 30% shares of "NVC" Navichord Mega Co. now trade at $88 on OTC market. Bingo!

  • @JohnnyGoodyear, very true. @kaikoo went all the way from sharing ideas via email to promotion on this forum. I'm not sure I could getaway with just a cup of tea :)

Ah....perhaps you missed it, I have a question for you:

  • Is there a possibility to have the on screen keyboard send its chords via a separate midi channel as supposed to the chords on top of screen?

Hi, Navichord will delever you rewards. You will never regreat, Try synthmaster with it!

  • @Musikman4Christ Don't know how much it will fit into your own workflow, but it's purrttyy thing.

  • well, I think if I can play a full chord by touching the top of the screen and use the keyboard on the bottom to change variations while playing midiband, that would work great! I found some nice Rock Yamaha Styles that are working like a dream with MidiBAND and so far i was able to get the yamaha app to do it, but it seems that Navichord would be so much more easier to use straight on as the chords are all there on the screen. I asked the developer what notes are the ones that trigger the variation changes on Midiband, like when one selects Main A, B, C or D, or Fills etc... Do you know by any chance?

  • I'm afraid I do not Sir, but I'm sure @Navichord will be around if no one else can help.

  • I meant to say the developer of Midiband.

  • @Musikman4Christ, I don't know if those patterns can be changed in Midiband via midi, but there is an easy way to check. There are only 128 midi notes, if you have a keyboard with octave change you could quickly go through all of them and see if there is any effect. If that is working, it would also work with Navichord.
Btw I looked at your Midiband review on iTunes, it looks so good, I wish every iTunes review was that elaborate and constructive :)
