  • I was always wanting to purchase the iOS version of Crystal Synth. The only thing that stopped me is that it's only monophonic.

  • Its not. Its polyphonic!
    Its amazing!

According to the Crystal Synth website the iOS version of Crystal Synth is monophonic compared to the desktop version which is polyphonic. Maybe this is changed with an update but the website still mentions its monophonic which is strange if you say it is polyphonic.

Differences between desktop and mobile versions of Crystal

The mobile version lacks only the following features compared to the desktop version:
Utility menu with functions such as layer copying.
    Soundfont import
    Patch bank browser
    Effects presets
    Polyphony
Advanced envelope editing features such as move locked.

The only real obstacle to purchasing the VST Crystal is that it not for sale, it's free free free

    Edit

The iOS one for $5 is a steal steal steal

  • The XT version has a switch for mono or poly.

Okay, no way am I going to miss out on this then. I'll hit the buy button. The developers of Crystal Synth obviously haven't updated the info then about polyphony on the iOS version.

I finally bought it but I'm disappointed that it is only two note polyphonic when the poly button is activated. However it is a good sounding synth.

  • Yeah and listen hoe thick and fat the patches can be. If u compare these sounds to others that have higher poly, the difference is how huge and fat the sound is.
Depending on what iPad you have, even the latest in, Crystal brings it to its knees.

  • Another thing, don't mistake the selection of voices to thinking that that's the polyphony. The three voices selectors means that u can select a single voice or all three and have a layered type sound. I have made some awesome presets with a single voice but I am able to play a lot notes in polyphony cause tweaked down the effects.
