  • It would have been even more interesting if the ReFaces had USB-Audio that would make them pretty nifty external Audio-Devices/Controller for the iPad. Regarding the Mini-Keys they seem to bee quite solid on the ReFace which can't be said for many of the Mini-Key controllers...

Another wish from me to Yamaha is for them to make the 'SynthBook' universal and add full editing capabilities to the AN2015 or better yet make it a separate app, I'd be happy pay for it... :)

  • Yes @Samu the lack of USB audio is a bit of a disappointment. Are there any keyboards that can push audio over USB to the iPad? I know the Ultranova has USB audio but I'm not sure if it required drivers or was class compliant.

  • @Jocphone Behringer has a 'controller' with built-in UCA that apparently works fine with iOS devices :)

As far as I know the Korg Kronos does bi-drectional audio & midi with the iPad using a Camera Connection kit...

So Yamaha could if they wanted to make the ReFace's to act as class-compliant audio/midi-interfaces...

I still have some hope that we'll se more 'Synth-Apps' from Yamaha...

I'll probably wait for the price to come down and snatch cp second hand. It sounds super sweet in this vid

Novation xio, awesome value if you can find a used one. Class compliant 2 in 2 out audio (1 mic pre, 1 line), also sends the synth over USB, works as a controller and a great synth, and can be battery powered, as well as AC or by USB (though not usb powered from iPad).

    HAPPY TO PAY!

    NO DOUBT.

USB is a must at this point.
