OMGuitar is on the bus!
This is like a new app, they have changed the look considerably and it seems to work much better now - in the previous version, I got nasty digital noise that made most settings unplayable, but this seems to be fixed in this release. Choice of 6 guitars including steel and nylon string acoustic and electrics, wide range of built-in effects, chord selector, an auto-play function, midi, a string mute button and a built-in recorder. Plus of course it now has Audiobus. A very extensive and worthwhile update.

Obvious question, I suppose: what would this app give me that I can't already get from my present guitar lineup of Guitarism, iFretless Guitar/Bass and Live Guitar?
Groupies.
@PaulB I don't remember seeing that in the feature list, but if you're getting that, enjoy!
Michael - if you have all of those, you could probably live without it, but it has a different sound, built-in effects, an autoplay function with selectable rhythm patterns. I happened to have it from before great apps like Guitarism were available. Never used it due to issues with the previous version, but this looks to be a new app which works much better, so worth a new look.
I had it before. The all new interface looks great. Many new features. Sounds are much improved. Haven't had time to go through everything but I'm excited that I already had this one. 10 effects with presets. 3 band EQ. Various automatic patterns. Recorder with fade in and out, reverse, crop. Silence, clone. Dropbox support. Open in many supported apps. Did I say the sounds are amazing? Oh and midi.
I had previously purchased this one. The all new interface looks great. Many new features. Sounds are much improved. Haven't had time to go through everything but I'm already excited that I already had this one.
Edit: sorry for the double post. @ Sebastian please delete
.
@Simon How would you use remote app?
Well, if the answer isn't "Remotely" then I haven't the remotest idea.
...actually, I do. It allows the remote to control the chord selections over wifi or bluetooth. Why would you want to? That I don't know...
If it plays its autostrums in the background while you control it from your phone so that you might have a synth or FX slot active on your iPad, sounds remotely handy.
@PaulB Romotely. Lol
Or you could be having a wank and the hand motion could remotely strum the app.
That way you need not get caught.
People have been wanking on guitars for years without the need for a remote.
Might have to refer this to forum wanking expert.
That aside,...
i like what they've done with this.
is taking a bit of getting used to (re:guitarism layout).
but whats not to like.
great sounds,
Effects,
Midi,
Top left hand corner of the app...anyone spotted the little red light for added amp.?
Well done devs.
Edit
A request..
Would be nice to hear chords when building a new chord set.
maybe a bug,but seems to work sometimes and others not.??
Am having to exit the 'build chord window',each time I want to trial the chord I've selected.
Have you noticed that if you activate the note display and use it to pluck individual notes, you can also bend the notes up and down by sliding after touching?
Yes,I have.
Design and attention to detail is top draw.
Automatic patterns are also done really well.
...you need to hold your thumb down on the 'big 'A'(top left hand corner)
Use that in conjunction with 'hand' symbol(bottom left) for some great slap effects
Very yummy
The remote app works like Futulele does, so you can stand with your left arm out holding your iPhone and your right hand strumming. Especially with the graphics of the Futulele, I've fooled people before (of course there I'm holding the two closer together) and get lots of double-takes and "hey, that's an iPad!" At some point they talked about making/selling a bracket to hold the iPhone & iPad in.

Had OMGuitar before, and this is a great update, I might actually get some use out of it now.
Angus Young plays a a Telecaster!
Who knew?
Lol
Am getting some major strutting using this with cubasis..
Latest ios update,
Ipad 2/16gb,
8gb of free space.
What, like Chuck Berry?
It's a bit more Roger Daltry
You've tried a reboot, of course?
Did that and a re-install,but still getting
"Why dontcha all f-f-f-f-fade away? Don't try and dig what we all s-s-s-say.
Wow...their new interface is sweet...
...updated, reinstalled and getting inspired. Well done, Amidio!
@commonstookie I'm not getting the Daltrys, same setup, although mine has 23Gb free out of 64
Paul,thanks.
Am trying it with bm2.
So far no stuttering.
Have you tried to record a midi file from
Omguitar into cubasis?
Does cubasis record the notes as you are playing them?
Results I'm getting in bm2 arn't that great.
No, I haven't. I don't tend to use MIDI much, I tend to be a 'busk it and record it' kinda guy.
Can see the sense in that.
The function was there.
Wanted to try it, as it's a feature I was asking for from Adil (guitarism).
Am finding it all a bit Norman Collier!
