FL-Studio Mobile 3

Not sure if there still exist a thread (didn't find one here). I was searching for some old iOS tracks in all my DAW's (sadly i deleted all my iOS works... over 100 in a bad moment). After long time i opened FL-Studio Mobile to see if there is still something. I got an interesting pop-up with this link here:
http://www.image-line.com/documents/news.php?action=entrypreview&entry_id=1434603244

What i really love is that it will be a total cross platform thing. That IS the future. Focusing on one OS is dangerous (but i understand that it might be the way to go for small companies).
I still think that a lot (or even all) iOS apps would work perfect as AU or Vst even when there were created for touch devices. Please developers don't miss the future ;)

  • That sounds promising @Cinebient (the announcement, not your deleting all your work)

  • Thanks for the information.
Have desktop version and wait for this mobile version.

Hehe, yeah that was very stupid. I have some of those days when all sucks.... ;)

  • Looking forward to FL Studio Mobile 3. Since it's just been updated, on the old version, it seems to run smoother.

  • Current version 2.5 just added IAA hosting, unfortunately the piano roll on FLM is bunk so I probably won't be using it for very elaborate MIDI programming. Still a nice thing during the wait for 3.

Can anybody confirm that IAA instruments work in FL Studio 2.5 ? According to help file they are available like any synth from the list. Unfortunately I can not see any IAA instrument in my FL Studio. Am I missing something?

-edit- Two screenshots attached - first shows what they say in help file, second one shows what I see in synth folder.

  • Two screenshots from FL Studio 2.5

Look under SAMPLER, not synths. That's where mine are.

  • Yes but it does not open anything.

  • Removed, installed again - works now

  • Some screenies.

  • FL3 looks damn slick!!

  • It will be the 'editor' that either makes it or breaks it, if the editing sucks it doesn't matter how many features it's got...

I just re-installed FruityLoops 2.5 whatever and deleted it again, the note/grid-editor just doesn't cut it, so it will be nice to see what FL3 brings with it...

    @Samu,

I agree with you, I haven't installed this version, but I think if its essentially the same as the previous version, I'II wait for version 3. Good to see that they are progressing things though. Maxx Claster is on the case, I believe.

  • The good news is that FL3 will be a complete re-write, the FL2.5 install even warns not to install future updates if the UI is important.

  • fl is like the band that never stops touring I'm looking forward to the next version

  • I tried to 'progress' upwards into Auria but it caused more frustration than anything, the timestretch kept producing audible click/cracks so I ditched it and went back to FL since I basically just use it to align wav files, can do my timestretching in Hokusai....

At least there seems to coming many new DAW's in near future. FL-Studio 3, Auria Pro, BeatMaker 3, NanoStudio 2, Cubasis 2 will come also for sure someday. NanoStudio 2, BeatMaker 3 and FL-Studio will have a big plus for me since they seems to get also iPhone versions as well. Especially the across all platform thing with FL-Studio sounds great for me.The iPad only DAW's are not of much interest for me then anymore.

    Agree..
I never bought the fl app because it was just an app they bought from another developer and reskinned. Now they are actually writing the code themselves I'm pretty excited because these guys are great devs.

I've been using fl on desktop since v1 lol, back when you used to have to sequence with a notepad :) how things have changed!

When these guys put effort into something they do great things, and the fact projects are openable in flstudio and other daws via vst is pretty awesome

  • Problem is they took all your time with them to fix it

Meh, I can wait for good stuff. It's all gravy at this point with apps like nanostudio, bm2, gadget etc.

  • Here's the original app they bought and reskinned for anyone interested..

  • Ya, I knew.

  • Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this! I've pretty much retired my iPad 2 (my wife is using it), and I have an iPhone 6 plus which I'm finding is pretty much an iPad "Micro". This new version of FLStudio has a LOT of potential! Also, Imageline is a purchase once, free updates for life type of company. There will be longevity with this app. It includes a full-blown sampler, drum pads, drum step sequencer, full audio editing, etc. It also looks like it borrows some of the better ideas from other DAWs and has an interface that gets out of your way so that you can work. It doesn't look convoluted like Beatmaker 2. And as said above, it is multiplatform. I have high hopes for this!! My iPhone 6 plus and K-board will be happy together! :-)

  • Yeah even the fact that you can have an android phone sharing projects with an iPad and pc is really cool! Also windows phone (shudder) and stuff like the surface too.

  • @Buska Agreed! It will make it very useful!

  • Anyone know when?

They say alpha/beta test in a few months (maybe). So i would say at least 6 months or so.

  • Is FL dance type of midi oriented or can one have beats like the ones in Rock Drum Machine?

I'm fairly sure the quantization isn't hardwired to anything. So you're free to make any kind of grooves I'd say
