Apologies, maybe I misunderstood your original..
But I disagree, and feel that songs are no longer defined by strictly adhering to vocal choruses, refrains etc...
Not sure if you posted the Kaossilator Offet Drums video here, but that was good too.
@touchconspiracy Fine, I'll bite. Dude, NanoStudio is sampler. If you can make great house music with an Akai S900, you can do it with NanoStudio (or Beatmaker). Really, the notion that you can't is sort of silly.
All three of these fellas make lots of NanoStudio only(*) tracks. I just picked some at random. Browse around each if you're actually interested.
* NanoStudio only is a misnomer because... it's a sampler—put in whatever you like.
Thank fuck for that!
You win first prize for your endeavour to convince me..
Good stuff, especially the Lee B tune
More stuff for my DJ mix for sure.
This proves my underlying principle, choose a few apps, master them and make solid tunes
I'm humble enough to have my opinions changed on occasion u know:)
No problem Bro. It's just a difference of how we define things. I differentiate songs with a focus on the lyrical content from compositions with a focus on the musical content. Personally, I've never been a songwriter. However, I do view myself as a composer of sorts.
This I highly agree on.
Thanks! I'm trying my best not to binge spend these days lol
Links were broken, so attempted to find the updated ones:

Thanks @srcer
@srcer
Are you sure Necro makes all his music in nanostudio? The song at 8:00 was popular at Afrikaburn last year - or at least the original. It sounds a lot like a lo-fi version of another track/ a less good "cover"?
To be honest I'm not even sure it's the same necro, I was just attempting to update the soundcloud links to ones that work. Couldn't even find one for the third, but did find a bandcamp link, so used that instead. I'm not actually familiar with any of the artists that @syrupcore was sharing. A lot of these old threads have great nuggets of info, but unfortunately links can suffer from bit rot over time. Just trying to keep them alive.
Good catch. Necro was a song by stickandgarrote. Here's a new link:
And here's a newer one by the same fella. Again, all NanoStudio.
Looks like Lee took down the track I linked to. Here's another housy all NS jam
Jesper Jones is another maker with lots of great Nanostudio sounds
@syrupcore Thanks for correcting/updating!
Really like the Jesper Jones track
