"Record or toggle individual loops in Loopy HD. Trigger drum samples in DM-1. Move between presets in Bias FX and JamUp. Change presets and adjust effect controls in Holderness Media’s effects apps including Crystalline and Echo Pad. Trigger individual sections in Sector, and switch modes. Play a mini version of SoundPrism Electro. Our compatible apps list now has a badge for apps that offer Remote Triggers."
The issue for me, and probably some others, is that for performance reasons our old devices might not be on the latest iOS. My 'spare' iPad 2, and iPhone 5 are still on iOS 7x for example because of the horror stories I've read from those who've upgraded.
What would be really cool, is if the above features were available via AB on a single machine. At the moment though this isn't something I can run, which is a shame.
I had a quick play with this at lunchtime, since I couldn't resist giving the Audiobus team some more money. They have, after all, revolutionised iOS music-making and given me many hundreds of hours of joy in the process.
I'm pleased to report that Audiobus Remote is brilliant! The quick app-switching is a revelation, and the app-specific triggers - even at this early stage - give a ton of possibilities that are finally achievable live without the fiddliness of the existing control panel. I didn't quite 'get it' until I used it, but after only a few seconds it dawned on me how powerful a live/improvisational aid the new app is.
Good job, Audiobus team!
@Sebastian and @Michael - would be nice to have an option in AB to keep the control panel closed for those who own remote and would not need it.
I'll add that to our list with feature requests...
Great! Thanks @Sebastian.
This is awesome. Way to go AB FELLERS.
Always available keyboard sounds great and fits well into the spirit of this app in my mind. You could play two synth apps at once. How to decide which app to route the keyboard to sounds hard but I believe in you guys. I get that you can do this via SP Pro + Remote but that requires going into settings on SP which is exactly the sort of thing this app is aiming to get rid of. As a bonus, making one available in the app will help avoid the eventuality of having 150 apps which fill the screen with note triggering options. It could already replace the DM1 note grid if a developer were able to set some config option that said "When the built in note trigger UI is pointed at my app, use these MIDI NOTE #s".
Same thought. Nice big 'Hide Panels' button but in the new remote app, not in the AB app. That way, only when the remote app is on and connected is the setting available/activated and it's apparent to users then and only then—instead of "I'm sure I saw that hide panel button here in AB last time I opened it" type confusion when Remote isn't connected.
That makes sense @syrupcore.
Can't seem to find it on my US iTunes store on iPad/iPhone/iPod.. . When I try to purchase it via iTunes, I get an error message.. Looking forward to using this right away! Awesome, but What is up @Sebastian?
Here it is..

How far away can my iPhone 5 running ABR be from my iPad air2 running AB and still work?
Hello All!
The Audiobus remote is a good idea but it should run on the same device as Audiobus or should be incorporated into the audiobus interface making it an in app purchase! Thank GOD we have Audiobus to provide connectivity for music apps butt IOS music is still very primitive compared to desktop recording! The only one outside of the Audiobus team who seems to get it is Korg because Gadget is a dream come true! It would be nice to be able to record like this on IOS universally! If there were some way to achieve this with Audiobus it would be great! Connecting apps and being able to record audio or midi notes or both in sync with a project playing in a DAW would be nice! I saw that Micheal Tyson who is the developer of loopy working on a sync application and it looked very interesting indeed!! Maybe you guys can join forces
I do bot know why you guys stopped supporting IOS 7.0! I cannot update my copy of Audiobus and I do not think that i will update to IOS 8 I do not trust it! I would rather buy a new ipad then lose functionality of the apps I have!
Oh boy. Here we go.
Why don't you trust iOS 8? It's mature, it's fine now.
The horror stories are just that: stories. Upgrade and don't look back. I speak from experience with iPad 2, 3, and iPhone 5s.
Oh ok thanks for the confirmation. I'd seen quite a lot of older pad users on here wishing they hadn't updated from 7x as they were getting less battery life and other issues. If that's all fixed I might update then.
The consensus is that the performance issues were resolved as of 8.3. Speaking unscientifically, the battery life on my iPad 3 has never been better than what I'm seeing now on 8.4. For realz.
Us older pad users mumble on about a lot of things that might be best ignored ;-)
Just noticed the iPad 2 isn't supported anyway, so scratch that.
You see what he does here right? Super Sekrit App - The Sequel all cued up and ready to go....
@sebastian: hm, why not remote control ab on the same device?
UI looks much more practical then the little ab sidebar ...
This app would perfectly fit in split view mode in ios 9.
Think that makes an even 50 requests.
We know. We're working on it.
sorry tl;dr
Hey, invaluable to hear the market speaking....
I think the market says: I want to buy this, too - but I don't have a 2nd idevice with bt4
so you could sell this to all audiobus users
can't wait for nice new workflows
We're on it
