Is there something in the update that would affect it? I don't think it's an OS issue, but you never know. Anyway, my life has been fine without it this week, so I'll probably just delete it since it takes up so much space. It's a good idea that feels unfinished.

On exactly the same bike here.

  • I updated iOS to 8.4.1 and it fix only 'audio' stutter between first and second section on my iPhone 4S and iPad2 :-)
But changing tempo is not so good, needs fixed by update of SesionBand Drums.

  • it will be cool WHEN THEY FIX IT... :)

  • Like marriage.

  • Dropped to $1,99

  • Even if it is only for jamming along to, you can't beat the price and the quality drumming.

  • You can also sample parts and stuff.

  • Just wanna say that I'm a performing professional and teach on the side and the Sessionband apps (especially the 3 jazz ones) have been blowing my musician friends and I away. I got them during the huge sale last month and they already paid for themselves within 2 weeks! So not all's bad in case someone is interested in their stuff.

  • While I really like the jazz sessionband apps, I have to say that I prefer "ireal pro" for building jazzy chord progressions and grooves , and it export midi,

I m surprise I don t hear more about it on the forum

  • OMG! I have no luck :-( A week ago Original SessionBand was $0.99 and next $1.99 then I bought. Now is $0.99 again :-( Oh GOD!

Is any chance to find a converter for audio files to .aiff (apple loops) contained BPM tempo data on Windows PC?
Apple loops files can be stretched without a lost quality eg. in GarageBand.
This is .aiff file from "Drum Loops HD 2" you can import into Garageband ant then you can change BPM.

Agree that it's a great workflow, especially considering the thousands of readily available backing tracks in the forum. Either people don't know about it, or they keep it secret :-)

Probably one of the best alternatives to SB in iOS if you're looking for MIDI export capability.

Actually, I'm asking about iReal on another thread....seems so promising, but wonder if it will really match expectations etc.

I find it worth it not for the internal sounds to be honest. The thousands of songs in the forum work as chord progression libraries to me, and I always export the track to MTS and use my own sounds. If you do that, and understand that it produces only a backing track (not the complete song), it is a good bank of rhythms and songs. Of course, it is really designed for the performing musician, with very simple transposition, and it is great for playing along as well.

  • Thanks Mister A.

  • @AndyX Could you please explain how you export from iReal ,as it only exports as .xml
file and I don't find a way to open that in MTS or Cubasis
    Thanks for any help!

  • +1 for iReal Pro, both iOS and OS X

I also have most of the SessionBand apps, and have specifically hoping to get just a drum app from them. (SessionBand Piano is very cool, IMO). I'm less interested now, having seen the lukewarm responses.

With the song you want open, just click on the top rightmost icon (a square with an up arrow inside). Select Share Audio - MIDI. Then just Open In MTS or wherever you want!

  • @AndyX Got it.Thanks a lot!

@JohnnyGoodyear Here is an example of what can be done with iReal.

Sorry to hijack the thread. But as people seem interested in alternatives to SB, iReal Pro is certainly one, especially if you need MIDI export. By the way, I'm a big fan of SB as well (though I haven't purchased Drums).

This is a track I made a while ago, based on a version of Long Train Running in iReal Pro. MIDI exported to MTS. I still need to put something over it / add some variety, but as a backing track done in about 15 minutes, it is not a bad start I think. Certainly better than I could have done by myself :-)

  • Thanks for posting Mister A. Will keep thinking on this one. I need to get my expectations down enough that I like it a lot. I have a tendency to fall the the other way :) Especially at 12.99.

Who am I kidding? It'll just take a slow night..... :)
