Diode-108 on sale
On sale for a silly price, if you haven't got it yet do it now!
Comments
Yes, lowest price ever.
Thanks to you and to the dev, an active member to this forum.

how does it work on iPad 3 & Mini 1st Gen?
You can try the free version for testing.
Yep saw free version, I'm tempted now cause of the 808 trap grooves Jakob demonstrated on his last video..
Ok, had a play with free version..it's very good. One question..re full version..if I want to export patterns can I just do that with acp or do I have to press the damned record button..
I just want to sequence set bar patterns and paste to Bilbao
If this is the case I'm buying diode right now cause I think this is better than dm1 and faster than Waldorf attach which sits gathering dust..
I'd been holding off buying Diode as I already have about 800 drum apps, but my 'go to' app DM1 has been playing up in Audiobus recently, and becoming a real pain so I'm hoping Diode will be a good replacement. Haven't tried it in AB yet but from a quick play in standalone I'm impressed, and for the price it's a no-brainer.
I don't want it in AB..need to see if it works with acp
This sale is through MONDAY, folks. Get it while it's hot!
Diode is not really built to export patterns, but you can export each pattern as a song (Dropbox, iTunes, SoundCloud, AudioCopy, and AudioShare are the render choices). I think you can do what you want either by being in Pattern Mode, or by using the In/Out markers in Song mode.
Did anyone mention that Diode seems to have fairly attentive developers?
Heh. :-)
Must have for anyone on the fence.
Then I guess if my "song" is 4 or 8 bars long in song mode then job done!
Thanks, I'll grab the app tommorow..very cool that you came on the thread..
Diode-108 is about 100 times better than DM1, which was previously also my go to drum app
The export function is confusing and could do with some UI improvements!
The most confusing thing is when you hit 'Export Song' and choose how to export it, it says there is nothing to export...
...it took me about 2 weeks to realise that if you hit export despite this, it does actually export the audio!
The other thing that would be a MASSIVE improvement would be the ability to export each channel individually
Hmmmmmm, sales often precede updates.... *** fingers crossed ***
Also a big fan of DM1, I found the sound of Diode-free a bit harsh, unnatural, not sure how to describe it, but the sounds, although very loud, seemed flatter than DM-1. Maybe I need to go and relisten..
For some reason many of the sounds in Diode don't sound great 'out of the box', but with a little tweaking they sound great.
Anyway, I'm going to rip all the samples out of the the DM1 and put them in Diode
I think that's why I was surprised, escpecially with them advertising the professional sample libraries they sourced their sounds from and by everyone shouting about how great it is.
Maybe my tastes don't align with the majority.
I think the trick with Diode is going to be to load your own sets. The provided one's that I have come across so far since yesterday are not that great even when compared to DM-1. Diode's effects don't really seem that useful to me. Probably because I primarily want acoustic drums.
We'll (hopefully) soon have an update that makes importing and sharing kits much more practical.
That would be great... what about exporting individual channels? It's a bit of a pain doing it one at a time
I'll hopefully soon have a demo track made entirely with diode-108 for you to have a listen to...
Maybe they've been optimised a bit more. I like the 'Casio' type sounds, I think they'll find a home on some of my weirder tracks. Haven't really checked out the natural drum sounds though so maybe they'll need a bit of beefing up.
I haven't had any trouble downloading kits from Dropbox with Diode. A sharing feature would be great! Then ya'll could share the awesome kits you make with me.
I get your point @monzo but I've gotten a little distracted with Patterning and Oscilab now so I probably won't have the headspace to get back to this for a while. Will probably buy it anyway as you can never have too many drum machines and the developers mum spends a lot of time round here helping folks out.
She be a fine woman.
I know what you mean, my heads stuck in Patterning too at the mo. I think Diode's a different beast though - so where Patterning's good for quick crazy beats, Diode probably offers a more precise way of working - and the live pads are useful too. I'm pretty sure both have a place in the old music toolbox. And as you say the dev's a good egg and worth supporting.
Agreed.
Yeah, that's climbing our to do list. Many have asked for that.
