  • Would love to, but I want Auria Pro to be great, so will leave it to those that have more experience than I.

  • And keep in mind what was discussed in the beta testing thread! I have to really think about whether or not I have time to test it correctly. I will say this, I have had discussions via email with rim before and he is easy to work with.

    "Hi all,

I am excited to announce that the Auria Pro Beta Program is getting ready to begin! If you're interested in helping us test Auria Pro before launch, please fill out the following information and send it back to us: [email protected]

    Notes:

    • You must own an iPad to participate in the Beta program.
    • Due to Apple testing limitations, your iPad must have iOS 8 or later (once Auria Pro is officially launched, it will work with older iOS versions, so this limitation only applies to testing).
    • Beta testing can be challenging. We're looking for people who are good at finding bugs and are willing to take the extra time to figure out how to make them happen!

    Auria Pro Beta Application

    Full Name:

    Email Address:

Which iPad model(s) do you own?

Have you used any desktop DAWs? If so, please list them:

Please list any USB or MFi audio interfaces you have available to test:

Please list any MIDI controllers you have available for testing:

Have you participated in any other audio/music beta tests, and if so, which ones?

Please list any other iOS music or audio apps you use:

Please describe why you would be an asset to the Auria Pro Beta team.

    Thanks,
    Rim"

  • I just hope all the Auria plugins end up compatible, they seem more reliable than using IAA effects in my experience.

Agreed. Hate to plunk down that money again.

  • Good to see beta tester qualifications.

  • All your purchased plugins will transfer over Guys!

    Great!!!

  • Can I just add, HELL YEAH!

Now all I have to do is get up enough courage to apply.

  • Good luck drivers.

Writing that email is gonna take me 6 hours.

  • Submitted my application. Never used Auria, we will see.

  • I has signed myself up. Or asked to be. Looking forward to it.

Does the beta testing involve taking feedback on the UI/graphics? That'd be my area of expertise/usefulness.

  • Usually by the time you get to a beta, everything is more or less set in stone and you're just trying to find reproducible bugs. UI and design happens a lot earlier usually in my experience.

Hmmm, you're probably right - but that's where a lot of problems with workflow can be fixed, and if their current UI is anything to go by they could do with some feedback on this one.

  • @monzo
Tarekith is right, but the GUI can still be "tweaked" here and there. We would love your help!

Good to see you over here @Rim.

And that you are open to changes/adjustments all around-ish.

Ah great stuff, thanks. I'll probably give this a go then.

  • I know there is a lot of excitement for Auria Pro, but please Devs, take as long as it needs....don't rush it out. Fingers crossed it's the best.

    Hi Rim.

Can you put a figure on the amount of hours per week you'd want from a beta tester? I'm tempted, use Auria and work kindof in software development so understand testing - but I don't want to sign up and then not be able to commit the time you need.

Phone isn't quoting correctly, but I'll second that question. This is probably the one app I would beta test, but want to do it right. Then again, having a specific task in front of me helps me focus. I'd probably be focusing much more on the audio and routing side of things, though I could do some midi too.

Ah, enough from me, I'm submitting my application. I've certainly sold enough copies of auria...

  • I'm mostly curious about the sampler and if it's MPC-style. My next album will be BM2/Auria, and I'm loving mixing & mastering in Auria. I'm hoping that this update could eliminate BM2 from my workflow. If it's not MPC-type, then I will hold off to see what BM3 looks like and make a decision at that point.

I hope it's not an MPC style sampler, or at least not solely that kind. my favorite sampler ever is nn-xt. In fact, it's the only one that ever made sense to me, although granted I have not used a ton of them. I'm not saying I'd hate an MPC type sampler in auria, just that the "traditional" sampler is needed. I know beatmaker has one but I found it very hard to load in samples and make a patch. I'm thinking though, since I have this week off, I may put beatmaker back on my iPad to explore it again (and make a killer piece with the accordion and clarinet samples!). ;-)

I'm wondering if your issue with the BM2 sampler has more to do with BM2s crappy file structure.

  • Could be, but I think it was more just fiddling with the various settings for range when trying to import multi samples. It's been a while. I just remember nn-xt being really easy in that regard. Either way, I'm all for anything that is coming in auria pro, auria has been groundbreaking on iOS and has changed the way I work for the better. The ability to work on a mix wherever I am has been really valuable.

  • Agreed. I don't want to fiddle w/settings. I want to create music.

  • A good approach would be to go through the manual and prove or disprove each feature and utility in as many weird ways as you can think of. More like trying to push the boundaries and see if you can get it to lock up or glitch in a predictable manner.

I'd be curious to know the answer to this question as well. I want to make sure I can contribute and meet expectations rather than just getting my dirty paws on the beta!
