@yug I suspect the file-size is bigger due to the need to support more resolutions than that iPad version. iPad versions only need to support 1x and 2x (1024x768 and 2048*1536) while the iPhone version needs to support 4 different screen sizes to give pixel-perfect rendering from iPhone 4S to 6+ (it includes dedicated graphics for the iPhone 4S too).
Once iOS9 hits the streets this will change because only the gfx-resources needed for the hardware the apps are running on will be downloaded when the app is installed. This will most likely give us more space on our precious devices too as some 'deprecated' gfx-resources can safely be removed (hopefully this is automatic so there will be no need to re-install the apps).
I'm also thinking that Korg would have had no problems making iElectribe universal but since most of us already have an iPad version giving the new app for free for our iPhones is bad for business.
Personally I have no need for the iPhone version of iElectribe, this might change if I decide to get the new iPhone 6S Plus or what ever it will be called
I have no need for it on my iPhone either.
So I'll probably pick it up today.
Looks like it does has midi in.
Can someone confirm that it has the 'beat flutter' function? I can't see it on the screen grab but it says it has it in the description.
@Matt_Fletcher_2000 Looks like beat flutter to me
Couldn't help my self...
Word of warning though. Export is currently limited to 'iTunes File Sharing' (and recording using AudioBus/IAA-Generator). There is no way to manage the bounced-files without the use of a computer...
I would have been more than happy if it was possible to use 'Open In...' and delete the files inside the app, maybe it will be there in a future update ehhmmm.... (Similar to Share panel in 'iElectribe' but there the 'Export to...' is currently broken but AudioCopy works).
As mentioned there is and additional 'ring-mod' option in addition to the cross mod.
Beat-Flutter is there bit I've not found the 'Valve Force'.
And honestly the UI is a bit on the tiny-side on the iPhone 5
I know Korg can do better than this...
Got the original for iPad. I think 9.99 intro price is a bit expensive. considering its for the iPhone? I agree on other comments about this app. Korg should of made iElectric universal. I think Korg are getting a little above themselves at the mo? Especially, with the Liverpool Gadget (this is the Beatles Karoke synth) coming out.
Yes, as an owner of a 16GB iPad I'm really looking forward to iOS 9
Thx Samu for pointing at problems the app has at the moment. Would have been an instant buy, but hearing about the defects I put my purchase on hold. Curious about upcoming reviews.
btw Appstore link for the iELECTRIBE for iphone

The lack of proper export features in iPhone iElectribe makes me a bit frustrated...
It already has an option to back up files to iCloud so why not add "export *.wav to iCloud Drive" too?
Remains to be seen how much 'care' Korg will give the iPhone version of iElectribe.
That's a shame no bounce/export. That is a really useful feature in Korg's iPad apps.
Yes, it has bounce / export and it sounds better than ever (and so many presets). Love it.
See also that it requires iOS 8.0. Means that they dropped WIST support for this app. Talking about updates, would be nice if they did a WIST update so compatible with iOS 8 and for the future iOS 9. WIST (Sync start) is a still handy function.
So is it iTunes only, as Samu pointed out? That's what I was referring to. Or does it let you copy to the pasteboard too?
@1P18 Sadly it doesn't put anything in the paste-bord only saves the exported *.wave to the iElectribe documents folder... (I've mentioned this on Korg FB-Page, remains to be see in anyone reacts).
I'm honestly happy that Korg has not update iPolySix, iMS-20 and iElectribe iPad to use the 'new' AudioCopy 3.0 framework as it reverts back to using General Pasteboard even when AudioCopy.app is installed.
Sorry yes, it's there but looks like iTunes only.
Filtatron's Amp module is a good substitute for the tube gain, AUFX:Push on the end of the AudioShare fx chain and I'm all sorted. Of course I agree bounce open in/export would be handy and a it's weird omission for Korg since they have it working nicely in their other apps but for now AudioShare's tempo trim will do.
This feels like a filling in the portfolio opportunity port to me. Poorly priced and a non-event (for me) without export/open in. Airdrop?
It's a weird thing to bring out to be honest.
It must have taking coding time to convert it. Why not have that programmer work on something NEW for Gadget that they can sell as an IAP? iElectribe for Gadget, even (although Tokyo half covers it already).
Maybe they just thought no one on the iPhone/iPod would need or want ACP, and would just use it in the true spirit of the Electribe (live playback).
Despite the small gaffe, I like the iPhone/iPod support. Everything is cooler mini-fied. I wonder if the iMS-20 is next. They had a version for the Nintendo DS, so they have proven the ability to cram all that UI onto a small screen.
Not so many good drum machines for the smaller devices exist. Bringing iElectribe to the iphone makes perfect sense to me. But it should have been done years ago...
I'm kinda surprised by the price. Usually, it's either a universal app or its iphone version is considerably cheaper than the ipad version - look at sunrizer, animoog, nlog, you name it
I like it, because it's so cute.
It won't take as much time to port an existing app to a different size format as it would creating a Gadget version, and nowhere near as much time as it'd take developing a brand new app.
I guess like any company they need to make a profit, so this is a relatively quick way to make a few quid. Doesn't mean they're not doing other interesting stuff, but maybe the accountants were leaning on the iOS department to get their sales figures up for this quarter and this was the quickest way to shut them up.
Sounds very boringly likely right there.....
Yeah.. I dont think I will be able to use this on something as small as a iPhone screen. Need the iPad screen size.
Tempted because it's Korg, and there are fewer great drum machines for iPhone, but the missing bounce loop annoys me and I have a 5s, so real estate on the screen will be a little tight. Hmm..
Pass....I have the iPad version and I never use it.
I want Diode-108 on iPhone.
I'm surprised they didn't spruce up/update the iPad version first though - since they're probably using the same code it would have made sense to update the iPad version first, then port it to the iPhone. I guess their motto is 'if it aint broke then don't bother to update it'
I would suggest Elastic Drums and Seeks Beats and DrumJam (all iPhone). And you could get any two of those for roughly the same price as iElectribe once it becomes it's normal price of $20. And they are all universal so you get ipad and iphone.
But I do love Korg - so I hope they sell some and pump the money into Gadget . I might yet buy it for that reason alone.
Almost certainly .
Who knows maybe there are more Korg apps waiting for approval...
...iELECTRIBE Gorillaz Edition for iPhone? that'd be real cute...
