Baby Audio Synth Out Now!
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ba-1-baby-audio/id6449602868
$19.99
Teaser 2:
“Our first synth is coming...
For the past 4 years, we've released plugins you can run your sound through. But we've never made one that actually creates the sound in the first place. That's about to change.
Stay tuned for our very first synthesizer plugin, out April 25th. We won't say too much about it just yet – except that it's an evolution and not an emulation.”
Anyone care to guess what “evolution” might look like based on Baby Audio’s previous creations?

I’m really looking forward to this
Me too! I’m guessing the synth will have a very easy to use controls, great presets and great effects 🙌🏽
Just hoping the UI will not be microscopic mayhem like crystalline…
…my guess is yet another va with wavetable oscillators and I would not be surprised if it’s $39.99…
I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic. 😅
Are they planning for a tandem release on iOS? I don’t have a desktop anymore so that would be great.
I wonder if twisted wires means anything in regards to the synthesis method? That price looks about right.> @jwmmakerofmusic said:
Me too 😆
I wonder the same… I would hope “yes” since it’s a new release.
Desktop first..iOS some time after
I hope so as well 🤞 luckily we don’t have to wait long.
Thank you 😊
Another Teaser:
Ah well, I’m glad to hear iOS is at least on the map. Seems like it sounds great.
I'm not hearing anything very new or different here, so I wonder what is the big selling point/feature they're going to push?
Same, I mean it's probably personal taste to some extent but these demos do pretty much nothing for me
That said, some text size issues aside, as mentioned by Samu earlier regarding Crystalline, Baby Audio are really masters of making their apps a pleasure to use and sounds incredibly easy to dial in. So I'm still very excited to see what they do here. The compressor for example is really worth grabbing on that front.
sounds very casio cz-ish...
this seems to be the "evolution" nowadays:
back to friggin 80s...
Lol
Yeah, demo brings me back to the days where it was still cool to wear a blazer with shoulder pads.
Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, we’ll see.
... and the graphics suggest phase distortion
Tbh one of my 3 favorite software synths features PD and a dual VA filter.
Surprisingly it happens to be the most analog sounding device, too.
PD would be great.
Yeah, I agree, there is space for another PD synth, especially if Baby Audio found a way to make the user interface flow nicely, which they are so good at doing!
Indeed, the UI for Taip is magnificent
Baby Audio is not afraid to be different!
I’m willing to pay for stuff I “already” have if someone is clever enough to make it easier to use 🙏🏻
I actively dislike them. Coming-soons and teasers should be punishable. At least that's what I thought earlier, before I figured out that I can also just not click on them, which is my current go-to strategy.
🤣
I’m getting a feeling that this synth could be semi-modular given the tangled wires in both videos and the module/block in the second video…
Wait what? How else would someone promo anything they’re releasing?
Also same. I do like that 80s nostalgia, but honestly unless the synth makes my jaw drop to the ground with something new or an established synthesis method or methods done in an inventive and new way, I may just pass. That said, I'm not going to judge something based on teasers alone. If it's modular/semi-modular but done in a way that is intuitive to the way I work (rather than MiRack which is unintuitive to the way I work), I may purchase it and take it for a spin in AUM.
The color theme is strikingly close to the Yamaha CS01 so maybe it served as an inspiration when they were designing the synth?
I wouldn’t mind a CS clone either 🤩
Guess it will have an editor, if not is more like a preset player
