it works the same as on the iPad. I just cant seem to figure out how to make it open Drambo song files from the Ipad yet.
The documents folder under my admin/username is the documents folder in iCloud. I guess you're not using your desktop and documents folders with iCloud, nor does the Drambo dev.
The Drambo iCloud folder was created from the iPad version when I installed it on my old iPad, but inside Drambo I couldn't use it, only the local Drambo folder in the "On my iPad" location on my actual iPad. Kinda weird that Drambo is calling for that folder to be added, as it can't be accessed from the standard file system on a Mac.
I guess it's the actual iPad version that's running inside Ableton which "thinks" that it still runs on an iPad, that's why the messaging doesn't make sense.
@Antos3345
I've turned iCloud drive off for documents and desktop and got Drambo and file access working now in Ableton 12.
It's amazing in Ableton.. but Drambo is already amazing:)
Thanks for the help btw!
I've moved the Drambo plugin window from Ableton to the iPad using sidecar and interacting with it with the Apple Pencil feels like the native ipad version, it works really well. But the main issue is that the window is way bigger than the iPad and can't be resized. I hope they change that and add responsivity or change it to a size that works on smaller iPads!
yeah, the resize would be nice. BTW, let me know if you figure out how to use Drambo as a midi sequencer in Ableton, if even possible.
I just found out that AU plugins can't send MIDI, according to an old video about Reaktor, probably still applies to Drambo as well. Bummer.
Here's another confirmation that it doesn't work natively in the Juce forum: https://forum.juce.com/t/au-plugin-sending-both-audio-and-midi/57765
Something that might work is a AU host wrapper, like Kushview Element or DDMF Metaplugin, if it supports AUv3.
ah ok..maybe someday:)
Marketing clarity would be telling me upfront that upgrades don't exist for the Intro version. Thanks for telling me what Ableton chose to hide.
@Ailerom
Best get a "used" license for Live 12 Standard instead, on Knobcloud they go for $200, and you can upgrade to Suite if you need to. Standard has almost all the relevant tools for midi and mixing.
Thanks, maybe I will, but I doubt it. Intro has the only features I am interested in.
With an Ableton Lite license (from Koala, for example) the upgrade to Suite is about 450€. A f**** bargain
Extra plugins has Ableton suite 12 for about 70 bucks. How is this possible?
It’s not possible, it’s a scam.
Indeed. You will have been duped!
What's crazy is the number of midi transformation plugins that have already been written for Live12. Go out to maxforlive.com and check them out!
They are crack versions.
It wasn’t a scam but. Yeah I went for it and you were right. Everything works though and it includes all Max for Live stuff. I’ll use it until I can afford the real deal I guess. Should only be a couple months. I def wanna support Ableton cause this upgrade is the bomb.
Actually there is a 30 day demo. Guess I’ll delete this. It was a 70 dollar lesson learned. Ughhh. If it looks too good to be true it usually is. How many times have I heard that in my life?!
We tried to tell you
So you paid for a 30 day demo which was represented as a full version? i don’t follow…
Sounds like buddy semi-knowingly bought a cracked version because they couldn’t afford the real deal yet, then realized Ableton offered a 30-day free trial so they decided to abandon the cracked version. Wise decision IMO; I never had a good experience with cracked software.
Newbie question: I already have installed 11 Suite and got the 12...do you guys keep 11? I do have 3rd party plugins in 11...and my own samples. I guess I should keep both...its just about room on the ssd... Thanks!
Both 11 and 12 can coexist - installing 12 won't replace 11. And most of 11's preferences will be applied to 12, so there's not much you need to do.
Keeping it could make sense if you're collaborating with others who maight be stuck on it for a while, because they may not be able to open Live 12 projects without issues.
I'm not doing that though, I just back up the user library by dragging it out of the Ableton folder to a different location, and then copy the things I actually need back into the new user library in 12.
I have separate folders for Ableton sets and audio assets. You can save the downloaded packs to a different location from inside Ableton too. I still have my samples folder from Ableton 10 and also use it outside of Ableton on the iPad.
Thank you guys!
Stacks Looks Amazing.. 6:05 in the video..
