Am I right in saying that you can't turn off TV3's play button when hosted as an AU?

I've recorded some midi notes from TV3 into Logic and now want to use this instead of TV3's sequencer. I hit stop on TV3's stop/play button and this seems to work but whenever I press stop then play on the host it overrides TV3 and starts it again.

Worse still when it's internal sequencer has stopped and the host is running, the midi notes I have recorded aren't triggering any audio on the app... Is there no midi in? I see that under midi in the menu it says 'no input devices' and Logic's keyboard isn't triggering any sound....

Have you tried turning the switch from “internal” to “external”? That got me a few times.

Gah! That'll be it!! Thank you so much 👍

    You’re welcome!

Not sure about the sequencer on this one. How do you transpose up and down octaves? Also, it sounds like the notes are all uniformly short when complexity is low. It doesn’t seem to have those long acid slides.

Just tried it out and not convinced either. It sounds quite good, but the sequencer is lacking, especially compared to Troublemaker.

It’s in the advanced page. It has zero playability though as it’s not a knob. I don’t like the sound of this one either- it’s ok having a bit of a difference but this is nowhere near a 303 sound to me. I’ve fed this back to the Dev’s. I much prefer the sound of DeeACID which is a similar app to this.

  • I like the sounds I’m getting, but I’m using it with fx and not in any way like people think of the 303 for the most part. Can’t really comment on a 303 sound though, as I’ve never used one beyond a few iOS apps.

Right! I see the tuning in Advanced. Thanks for that. Yes, would like to see some improvement to this one... Not quite there yet IMO regardless of the low cost of entry.

  • I just put this on YouTube for TV3, I also used Pure Acid Drums.
I used Comeback Kid for delay on TV3, set it up with my MIDI keyboard and also demoed with Step Poly Arp as a MIDI FX playing TV3, which is fun because you can switch between the TV3 internal sequencer and your MIDI FX.
