How do you think it will work with hosts.
Launching patterns to navigate song etc.
Looks cool, definitely a fan of UA 😎
Thanks. Here's a screenshot for those who want to stay on this page:
Just confirming that yes, we're putting it into beta SOON. I'm running it here on my iPad Pro 3rd generation. BPM stuff has been put in place, factory presets have been updated, etc. All seems to be working*
Woo!

Testflight is here! https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/64466/unfiltered-audio-battalion-public-beta/p1?new=1
This will be SO worth it when it drops, and this is coming from a recovered app-o-holic...
The randomizer alone is a real trip to 'whackoland'
Yes - tons of fun, and I haven’t managed to crash it yet! :-)
Running hardly but still fine on an iPad Air 2
Trying out the beta. This thing is really not designed for iPhone is it 😂
Loving it though
I’m not a massive fan of the way it looks but this sounds fantastic.
I understand why it is so highly anticipated now : )
I like the logo.

Feels like the only obvious thing missing are pads for finger-drumming for performing and recording sequences!?
Yeah it’ll be ace if they get round to working on that😅
They would completely have to chop the UI app to per function screens.
I wouldn't mind especially if it would mean being able to zoom things up like a lot on the iPad
The one thing I'm a bit confused about is it seems you can't create multiple patterns in this per preset which you can switch between? So it's a 'one and done' per song/preset? That seems a bit... weird for a drum sequencer. Everything else is amazing.
Obviously you can switch things around live with the performance page, but I was expecting Pattern 1, Pattern 2 etc like in most other drum machines with sequencers. If I'm creating a song in a DAW and am using Battalion's own sequencer in its AUv3 version, I would be expecting to switch patterns during the song.
Or they could implement a “Zoom & Scroll” function like AudioThing apps, it works a charm even on my tiny iPhone SE.
Yeah totally, not trivial, but certainly possible 🤞
Bingo!
I actually suggested vertical scroll (ie. keep maximum width) and if it doesn't vertically allow pan & scroll just like the all AudioThing apps...
Any kind of 'UI Zoom' is always welcomed by me due to my eyes.
'Performance Pads' would be pretty bonkers too and make performing the sounds and recording patterns a breeze
They wrote this in the first post of the beta thread:
Things that we will add after iOS release:
Pattern system
MIDI Out
Aha! Awesome.
As a fan of the Elektron Analog Rytm hardware, and also the old Stroke Machine and SeekBeats iOS apps, this is hitting the sweet spot for me.
Ok, so there will be an upcoming pattern system, great.
Sounds very good! Love how you can add small amounts of variation and randomization. Have to get a little used to the UI as I am spoiled by the large chuncky UI of Sitala and Octachron, this is a little more fiddling. Like it more in standalone for that reason. Man, so much to discover, good stuff. I wonder for how much they are going to sell this.
Only one seq pattern per instance?
No multi layering.
No samples I really get into.
vs
Everything else. That's about a 3:1000 win for Battalion.
Looks like a serious beast to me. Although the above are pretty important to me. Not so much the default sample library. But would be nice to have so more samples of real kits, or perhaps I should say decent samples of real kits.
Is there a way to make the randomization a little less experimental? Or a fast way to tweak it down a bit?
the devs do seem aware of this topic:

There is a Randomization Depth in Settings. Default value is 10. Set it to 1 and you'll see the top right dice only slightly drifts from your starting point. I found 1-5 to be good values. At 10 it already becomes highly experimental.
Then there is the randomizer on the perform page. That is good for doing small tweaks, which then can be dialed down with the big button, cancelled or committed.
I don't get the imression that acoustic kits are their focus with this app, so no velocity layering etc. For that you have OneShot. To me, the sample set in Battalion is the best I have heard on iOS for non-acoustic styles.
Thanks guys!
Anyone know the mapping? I’d like to use it with Octachron, but none of the existing mappings seem to line up quite right.
