Another new beta is out:
Is this for the iPhone version? The build yesterday should have fixed this by removing the white bar at the bottom, but let me know if it's not working on your device.
Definitely buying this one!
yes the iphone version.
would be great to have the whole screen.
on my iphone12 only needlepoint and tails are fullscreen, standalone and auv3
edit: bassmint is also fullscreen

Hi, I have a suggestion.
The font of 8 variable(?) parameter names highlighted with yellow borders in the screenshot above is hard to read due to the color of the font itself. So they would be easier to read if they were the same color as the highlighted “1, 2, 3, 4”. (For example, in the case of the screenshot above, the legible font color is white.)
[Note: I presume this issue is not specific to ‘TestFlight-Battalion for iPadOS/iOS’ only. So I presume this issue does not need to be fixed right away.]

By the way, thank you for the improvements in the ‘save preset dialog’ and ‘draggable BPM indicator in standalone Battalion’!
^^^ Especially when small fonts are involved, contrast is key to legibility. It's a good suggestion to make all of the fonts white in this case.
I feel like that'd imply visually that those knobs control those parameters, which is true but it's also controlling different parameters on the non-selected voices. I do think from a UX/UI standpoint a visual difference is the right call but it could be less extreme to help with legibility. The user needs to know that it's not only moving those parameters. Originally there were no names at all but I like being able to see what's on the selected drum to jolt my memory.
Thank you for the updates, you're doing an impressive job. 🤩 I wanted to bring up one bug, just in case you aren't already aware of it.
On the ‘Perform’ page, the ‘undo’ function is not working properly for the randomize button.
It works as intended for all manual tweaks. But, for example, if you hit the ‘Randomize’ button three times, the ‘undo’ will only revert the states to one step before those three actions.
The only way to make ‘undo’ work for ‘Randomize’ is to tweak at least one knob after each execution of the ‘Randomize’ button.
@amusesmile
Hi! Thanks for your reply and explanation.
On second thought, I think my suggestion was indeed extreme in a bad way. Since my suggestion was based on the biased use of only one ENABLE switch is enabled for one specific instrument (= Other 7 ENABLE switches are disabled.) and reading 8 knob parameters with the one specific instrument selected. In other words, my suggestion was not user-friendly and could mislead users. I’m sorry.
How about a colour closer to the dark grey / black end of the spectrum so that it stays obvious that it is something different. It just needs to have more of a contrast to the blue. With the current light greyness it is essentially invisible and almost impossible to read at smaller resolutions.
Is there a way to reset the step value of a parameter in the sequencer like alt-click does on the vst?
Please, pretty please, add an option for pre/post fader on the FXBus… all volume at -inf still has sound that “leaks” because FX are prefader… Really messes up live mixing.
@trickyflemming
I’m experiencing some unexpected behaviour in the Sequencer with the following settings:
I’m still learning the app, so may be user error, but i’d expect the sequence length to be 2 beats, but sometimes it’s 3 … please see following clip:
Using beta 1.1.2
A large beta update is up on Testflight:
@craftycurate Thanks for the report. I'll look into that.
Great thanks!
I’ve saved a new patch with the two latest builds but not seeing any folder or patches appearing in iCloud Drive. I’ve looked for folders called “Battalion” and “UA Battalion” but not seeing anything.
I’ve tried it in both standalone and AUv3 in AUM, and in app Settings iCloud is selected.
iOS 17.7.6, iPad Pro 2017
UPDATE: It does work for imported samples though.
I’m noticing an issue with the state of the AU not being remembered in Loopy Pro. I have reported it on the Loopy Pro Slack, but just wanted to give you a heads up as well. I have found that changes I make to the state of Battalion are not being saved by Loopy if I close down Loopy without manually saving the project. Normally in any app I can make changes without thinking about it. If I close down the app the state of the plugins will be remembered. This is not the case in my experience with Battalion. The state appears to be remembered when I load it into in AUM, Logic Pro and Cubasis 3 and I close those programmes down.
I just wanted to add as well that the further I get into this app the more amazing it is. I’ve not usually got along with drum machines, but this thing is something else! I guess to just call it a drum machine might be a little limiting.
I think “fucking beast” is more fitting.
This descriptor would be entirely accurate.
someone uses it on a iphone?
maybe its my sausage fingers, but for me its almost unsable without zoom, as it doesnt use the whole screen.
Well, I use it on a 2022 SE, but I’m a bit crazy. Still, I prefer using it like this, than losing it.
What's the DAW and tempo?
AUM, 120 BPM
The below issues I think I spotted reads dry and unappreciative of the app, just wanted to clearly state that this is an incredibly interesting, sonically adventurous, and above all just a blast to use! Happy this is coming to iOS!
As with the other UA apps I’ve got on iOS, this is another dope app I will find myself using constantly.

In the manual; it states right clicking on a parameter to engage locks on some of the pages, I imagine the manual will be updated for iOS but I must’ve missed if anyone else mentioned how the lock function works in this thread, as I figured out (way too long after😅) that you have to engage the lock button BEFORE touching the parameter you want to lock.
AUV3; With the AU window of Battalion, let’s call it 70% window, in Drambo, the touch controls to change the channel parameters are difficult to engage. Same goes for maximized too. Often when pressing the arrow on the Mix Page screen to change voice channel for Multi out, you have to engage multiple times and the menu end up popping up when the channel switch arrow is being pressed. Tried using my pinky to be precise, sometimes, but rarely, the arrow behaves as intended with advancing to the next set of channels correctly without the pop up engaging.
EDITED* @Halftone answered my questions about MIDI.

0 crashes, played this for hours on and off and had a really long multiple hour session today.
Seems solid stability wise (for me, in Drambo, on an M2 iPad Air running iPadOS 18.4.1)
Really excited for this to drop! Cheers @trickyflemming
Think they said midi out will come in the near future
Cheers @Halftone - I’ll edit that out then.
Is it possible to get an option wether to randomise (load) the factory or user samples?
or maybe an option to hide the factory samples?
the size is still unusable on a iphone.
its like having a movie just using 60% of the screen.
for touch devices its crucial to use the whole screen.
if there would be just 3 knobs it wouldnt be a problem.
