The million dollar question: Does it all work?

Comments
Wow. I bet it does with Mr. Bevin behind the scenes!
@GeertBevin I've had Animoog since it was first released and it keeps getting better and better. I'm very tempted to get all of the IAPs to show my support and I would also like to now if there are 'new' apps in the work?
Personally I'd love to see a virtual 'Moog Sub 37' for iOS even it it was priced well above 'average' (>$25)
@Samu thanks for your kind words! We are indeed working on new apps, but that's about all that I can say. It's a pretty exciting plan for the coming year! :-)
wont happen but yeas, Sub 37 would be awesome
We'll wait until it has gone through public testing, shall we?
@GeertBevin I'd be more than happy to help out with app beta-testing if the 'new app' ever enters public-beta because I feel it's the open discussion between testers and developers sparks new ideas and brings up issues that one otherwise might not have thought about.
Really off topic but, thankfully FingerBeat is in 'public beta' so it can be discussed freely. That app is going to be amazing!
As for the Sub 37, it is one piece of hardware I'd love to own (Just played with one last Saturday).
I don't know how I feel about the Sub 37 app idea. Modern analog synths should just stay analog for a while. Apps can be special in their own way. Animoog is like nothing else out there just as much as nothing else sounds and feels like the Sub 37. I think this is beyond it hurting the sales of the real synth.
I am rather fond of a Subfatty myself. I recently purchased two of Neo15s from Behringer and it would sound wicked through them!
As for the "new moog apps" , well, all I can say to that is ,Hell Ya!
@GeertBevin said on FB:
We've got big plans, but are also working on new apps, so it's going to be quiet for a few months unless it makes sense to do other bug fix releases. In any case, the whole team is working full steam ahead with some amazing things on the horizon!
Thanks for updates for animoog but also filtatron...freakin love filtatron!
I bought the midi expansion cause i wanted it but also to show support for people who stand behind their product.
Also, any chance of the store having a demo clip of the expansion packs? Youtube doesnt have much and not sure if the soundtestroom has any vids. Not a big deal but would help me decide if i want to buy more
Did you see my 2 posts here: http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comment/135268/#Comment_135268
Cool thanks a lot @R_2
Brilliant: "• Mapped controls now respond to MIDI when Animoog is in the background"
This means ProMidi looping a sequence into Animoog with tons of automation. Tweaking in ProMidi's automation lanes and hearing it live.
Good news.
Thanks @GeertBevin
For the passed few hours I have been playing Animoog. Not creating any tracks, just blew off the dust, and started playing.
Now I remember why I fell in Love with it 18 months ago on my iPhone.
It was one of the first apps that I could feel and anticipate. (It sounds my feelings). Yeah it's deep! Just purchased another pack, so there!
Funny how sometimes we can (allow) small issues with apps to get in the way of our creativity, not that it happened with Animoog but it happens.
Keep playing and having fun people.
Music is a Healer. :-)
Now there's only 4 IAPs remaining before my Animoog installation is complete (The Grateful Dead Expansion, Metallic Expansion, Vintage FX Expansion and Devine Expansion). I'll save those for some other time...
Still got 7 sound packs left to get. That's if I need all of them. :-)
Need to use the app more.
So many apps!!!
I think Animoog's a great piece of development, but the 'packs' still sound samey to me. I guess the initial style is so strong, that's what I hear first and foremost. Not knocking it, just taste (or perhaps poor execution on my part).
Your right about samey sounding. But some of them need a bit of playing to hear their uniqueness. But there could have been more contrast..
So for me that last pack may be enough. Gonna use what I've got
It still needs state saving
Hi john there are a ton of ways to get rid of Sameness and totally rock the animoog Magic!

Changing a few things breaths life beyond imagination!
Mix up timbres from various packs and mess with orbit and also the path . Change the envelope and amp filters attack lengths as well.
Now when you really want to make it sing control Animoog with Arpeggist, WoW!
I am playing along with RockDrumMachine in the background .
I am not doing so at the moment but can only imagine what a bit of Flux fx would do to the signal. Every time I come back to Animoog after watching the video below I find new ideas and widely different sounds and textures.
I am sure with not much work at all you will amaze even yourself . This is your mission , good luck should you accept it.
No, not the basic level, learn nothing!
Try this, the only video got me more educated!
I learned a lot from watching just a few minutes of this video. Thanks for posting, I have so much to learn about animoog, it has sat basically unused for a few years now mostly because it is so deep and I end up picking up stock sounds for what I need anyway.
Got any instructional videos for Filatron hanging around? I've never been able to get that working to any great degree.
Sorry, man! I do not understand the subtlety of Filtatron, can not help. That belongs to expert to praise Moog. I am amateur.
It is not the videos so much as the ideas you learn to make work for you. I would encourage others to watch various videos and try new ideas and combinations of controllers and fx sections. Once you learn to just let the ideas flow I will gaurantee you will no longer use sameness and animoog in the same sentence except to say nothing will ever be the same again.
What Jonh and I were talking about is the stock presets. We're aware that any sound can be manipulated but the sounds could have been more diverse from the presets.
We were talking about buying packs etc.
What was said is true and remains true.
A lot of praise and a little criticism. Why pick up on the little constructive criticism. Expand the praise.
Animoog is great, cheers!
I say what I say with a
Thanks all. I appreciate the education (as ever
. I used to watch a guy outside of Grand Central playing on an upturned plastic bucket with two wooden spoons. More talent than I will ever know about, but a very simple set-up. Sorry if I was sounding a little spoiled, by no means my intent.
Not spoiled at all really, I fealt the same way about many of the presets, it was only after I began to explore why that Animoog began to sound so damned great. It's all in the Timbres and what you do with those timbres not the preset which is yet one more thing that sets this synth apart from it's competitors. I no longer purchase packs in Animoog for the presets In fact but instead for the timbres .This is perhaps why this synth has gotten more praise than most others more than likely.
.now that is the truth (wink)
I bought a lot of the presets. But normally I just hit the random button and bring the ADSR into something usablae and then tweak from there, or hit random again.
Animoog + random button = full joy
