Congratulations on the release @sinosoidal. Someone has to ask so it may as well be me: is that an introductory offer or is it the regular price? If introductory offer, when will it end? Cheers.

The current price is the regular price of the app

  • Many congrats on the release, @sinosoidal !

That’s great, thank you very much for confirming and congratulations on the release. Cheers.

I really like this view, I didn't know it could do it so it was a nice surprise.

I'm semi deaf right now after sitting with the guitar for hours trying to find a good guitar sound. Using no other FX than GRFX (Guitar through EN Hardball). Loads of fun but it's hard to get all boxes checked, it's either get's a bit too noisy or too loud and weird. There's some presets that are close but I also started a few from default. I like it, I'll see if I maybe can record some video.

@sinosoidal here's a first example of using GRfx on iPad. I'm encountering some strange behavior in AUM, where the GRfx UI fails to load after a while. Not sure why, I'll see if I can repeat the action.

    Yep, I'm getting this too...

Have you found out a way of replicating this behaviour?

Sorry no, I haven't had much time to experiment...I'm currently repainting our house... :)

Did you get that view by just manually resizing pxlhg? Edit: never mind, I see it is using the split view in options👍 Pity though that in this view you can't see the granular controls. I'd love it if the view of the buffer was slightly bigger when using the app in the main auto view. Because that buffer is useful for understanding some controls, but it is so tiny and hard to see, even on the largest iPad. If you switch to split view, it is massive, but you can't tweak any of the knobs that actually impact what it is showing.

  • @xglax In the mixer panel, left of wet/dry dial… there’s return 1 & 2 dials… what do those do exactly?

Also, most of the time I don’t hear much effect from moving and/or modulating the center XY control. Is there a setting or preset that I could set that would make its effect more obvious to hear, in order to clarify its effect?

The center XY has a triangle for defining semitone transpositions. Have GRFX as 100 % wet in the default initial patch, set one vertex to -12 st, one to +12 st, and one to 0. Put the dot at the -12 st vertex and you'll hear all your grains being shifted one octave down. Move the dot to +12 and now you have all grains being transposed up one octave. The cool part is to put the dot only sligthly off from the -12 vertex, along the line toward the +12. Now most of your grains will be transposed down, but occasionally some will be transposed up. So the dot placement is a probability setting between the three triangle points.

You can also rotate the outer circle (or move the labels at the top) so that the three vertices get set to common chord shapes ("minor" is set to 0, +3, +7, for instance).

Thanks! 🙏 for the clarification! Do you also know what the return 1 & 2 dials do? I can hear the change, but can’t quite make out the exact function

The return 1 & 2 dials in the mixer are the output volumes of the send 1 (Delay) and send 2 (Reverb). A is the output volume of the FX section, B is the output volume of the granular dry signal, and volume either controls the output volume of the general wet signal (if you're hosted) or the general volume of the app (if you're using the standalone version).

If you put down knobs A and B, you'll only hear what is coming out of the sends

For those experiencing high DSP usage, could you please try disabling the following setting:

This will improve overall performance. @oldsynthguy Can you see if this helps with the heating problem? @echoopera can you see if you can instantiate more GRFX with this disabled?

This helped me, had 5 instances, no problem, iPad Pro m1
Will keep a watch on the temperature…

  • Pairing the Move with GRfx and loving it:

  • Further refinements:

  • Any AUM users running into both or either of these problems?:
    1. Occasional ‘Bad Signal’ errors caused by GRFX in AUM
    2. If you have an instance of GRFX loaded in AUM, when you switch out to an app other than AUM for a while, say 10 or 20 seconds, eventually the GRFX instance running in the background in AUM crashes.

I've run into the second one...

Also, once GRFX has crashed I have to restart AUM otherwise GRFX crashes again as soon as I try to load a new instance or another project using it...

We've just release a new beta 1.0.2 that gives a couple more fixes. One of those fixes is to improve the speed of the buffer save and restore. Its a blind shot but it can be related.

Can you please try that version and see if it makes any difference? @lasselu if you are not in the beta, please send me a private message with your email and I will add you.

As I mention earlier in the thread I've tried to do some presets for guitar. Not sure I succeeded but that's for you to judge. Now I've used a foot control for freeze on some. These presets I exported using the latest beta, if you can't import them. Anyway enjoy: Pxlhg Presets for GRFX There's just 14 of'em so not too many. 😀

  • Could we get a neutral mode for the circle e.g instead of just predetermined modes? Maybe a lock as well. 🔒

I don't know how many times I had those arrow values change for whatever reason. Please! 🥹😀 @xglax @sinosoidal

Yes, it's one of the things Imaginanado do really well. Hope you find something useful.

We have that feature partially implemented. It should be deployed soon.

This is why I love the concept of “community presets” in Cems new synth. It’s all right there in the app. We will see how it plays out after release/if it gets cluttered or overwhelmed
