Not at all, I bought both apps independently at some point after their release, and wasn't aware of a previous bundle. No matter the reason (could be even an App Store thing), it's odd.

Right on. I think the 2 app bundle was only available for a short time after the 2nd app came out.
Most of the time the bundle issues can be tracked backed to what a customer actually paid for an app, or if a customer previously used that value to complete another bundle. I’m not saying that is the case in this situation.
Also sometimes the App Store briefly doesn’t register your previous purchases, like it’s briefly not in sync. However you can tap on your account logo at top right on store Home Screen and pull down on the pop up to refresh, and search for app updates which usually kicks it into gear. You can also keep an eye on it, it’s possible it’s a brief error that will get adjusted. Who knows. Good luck.
