That's why we've worked so much on making this app for live/loop and realtime recording use as well. And it will get better, this is just the beginning! I'm quite into hardware myself, and like to play thing live recorded. I'll get you over on the chip side again... eventually

I don't think you need to be into the chiptunes music genre to appreciate the tasty sound of the SID that this app so beautifully emulates.
@firejan82 I totally agree. Once we get 'unison' and 'mono-stack'(trigger 3 different sounds at once, think for example playable sync-sounds where you have control of the sounds assigned to each voice and maybe mono-stack could also have control over individual voice transpose for one-finger chords) SidTracker 64 will be pretty darn cool as live-instrument too. Triggering and transposing patterns from external keyboard would be considered a bonus and is most likely be 'out of scope' for the app as it can be done by tracking the sounds.
The SID chip may have some limitations but with creative programming it can do many things that are next to impossible to do on anything else, there in lies it's charm

So this looks SICK! And user friendly from the manual anyways.... Say how many preset voices are there? Also it doesn't synch to midi clock yet right?
Yes, it takes incoming MIDI clock and you can set cc's for most parameters. It comes preloaded with several songs to get you started and each has 32 sounds. So I 'painstakingly' grouped my favourite ones plus some of my own and created my own default sound set to save time.
Is the Midi hardware only in SidTracker64? I could play it and midi learn it with a midi keyboard but not with ThumbJam.
Yeah, just tried it and it works over virtual MIDI with both Lemur and Midi Designer Pro. Try starting Sid64 last and then you might see your devices listed otherwise, you might need FreEWI and/or MidiBridge which are invaluable tools for connecting MIDI devices.

I liked the sid vs attack vid. Although my brain says attack has more power I like the ratty C64 sound and with tweaks its so damn dirrrty I think I may be on your side. I don;t have either yet. Leaning Heavily towards SID64

The emulation is written ground up by programmer @DanielLarsson who spent a silly amount of time to make it tick. I'm also very happy with the sound quality, but as a developer i am biased.
For 'ease of use' there is nothing like the SidTracker 64 out there on any platform.
Personally I'd love to see additional 'SID-Chips' for more voices in the future.
A Simple way to 'make space' would be to have a 'SID-Selector' above the 'clear' button. Selecting SID # could view the pattern for the SID # in the same area where the pattern already is.
For 'Song-Mode' it could just cover parts of the pattern.
@Segerfalk Are there any plans to give the wave table sweep and tick (duration) adjustment and like those found in the pulse and filter tables?

I admit that I had my expectations set low for this app, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's been perfectly judged in terms of ease of use for the ipad platform.
I thought it would be fiddly - it isn't. I thought it would be clunky and a little glitchy - it's slick and smooth. I thought the sound emulation would not hold up compared to the ReSID engine - WRONG. I thought the filter would sound too clean - WRONG!
I echo pretty much all @Samu 's requests TBH, but the 2nd SID in particular would be a real game changer.
Also, if there is a chance of some kind of 'Galway Noise' channel (like in Quadrasid VST) I would be a super happy bunny.

"Galway Noise" is in fact sample playback, but mr Galway filled it with random data for... eh... well... random noise effects
