@NeuM to create a new default patch tap the plus sign in the preset dropdown. It works in the standalone and the AUv3
Thanks. I've given up on it for the time being. Other than the existing patches, it's simply too unintuitive for me to worry about it.
thanks harry for that update!
those new osc's sound nice!
Tera Pro is one of the best IOS synths and a plus in the preset browser is not unintuitive ... reading the manual helps, many have forgotten that, with the flood of new synths....
Exactly. At the end of the day, it's not rocket science. It's just a slightly different approach, laid out clearly in the manual for those who can be bothered reading it!
yep. knowing your tools is also nice.
Only area of TeraPro where I still have to think a bit extra is when eating the MSEGs so I don't mess things up with the previous points when doing detailed editing. (Here I'd really love to see an option for a step value list for detailed editing).
Agree with both comments. Yes, it's a bit different so there's a bit of a learning curve but it's not a particularly steep one - half an hour of playing around with it should be all you need.
This has been my goto iOS synth for a while now. If I could only keep one synth, this would be it. Hope you make it back to it @NeuM
I have read the manual, and when I do I can happily find my way around.
Problem is when you have numerous synths, DAW’s, samplers, sequencers, beatboxes etc. on a variety of platforms with numerous approaches to UI’s, old geezers like me are prone to forget where everything is the next time I get around to using it. See also: Drambo.
So I fully sympathise with those who find the UI confusing. I guess it’s such a complex beast its always going to be tricky to come up with a totally intuitive solution. So for now I just RTFM each time.
Yep! I forget stuff about apps I've learned all the time. Use it or lose it, as they say, and that applies especially to unintuitive apps.
On the positive side, this instrument has a fantastic, rich sound. At the end of the day, we all love good-sounding synths. And it's a hundred percent better than having an equivalent sample collection. 🏆
I almost never use the phrase “at the end of the day”, so blame Gavinski for this, haha. 🤦♂️😅
Do u say that a lot? 🤔😂
I just checked my posting archive, it’s about three times per thousand posts. 😂
Hold on guys, this isn't "shoot the messenger" day. I happen to find the UI unintuitive. Anyone else is free to have their own opinion about this.
That was a typo. I meant ‘Do I say that a lot’. And wow, time to get the OCD meds adjusted buddy 😂
Now it’s the second day for me experimenting with all kinds of feedback in Tera Pro, darn you, Crafty! 🤗
Tera’s dual mixer setup with its reversal logic and performing recursion with audio signals feels more like math than relaxing sound exploration. If Harry reads this, please create another mixer or upgrade this one to include more groups like the ‘mscHack’ modules.
There are so many moments when you discover fantastic sounds, but you can’t simply explain what you did, and there’s no way to analyze the signal flow where you want to.
Ha … it gets us in the end. There's only so long you can stand at the mouth of the cave without going in to explore 😀
I'd go as far as to say It's counter intuitive - but only while you're going through the learning curve. After that, it soon clicks into place. No dig intended at all - just don't want you to miss out on possibly the best 'do everything' synth on iOS for the sake of half an hour (YMMV) adapting to it
Appreciate the comment, @charalew.
This is a pretty fair assessment, i’d say.
New free update incoming. Audio input and Mfx.

One of the best keeps getting better! This turns Tera Pro into an effect processor e.g. using audio input as in input to the various Plaits modules creates a new world of possibilities!
Oh wow
When is the new update going to be released?
I want nothing less than to love this synth because it's capable of so much, but I will never get used to its backwards workflow and I rely 100% on presets for sounds. Really would like to see Harry Gohs make a synth that is EASY and FAST to use, but with the powerful features found in his experimental synth work. That would be the ultimate synth, IMO. Get rid of complexity and do the work in the background for the user.
I just want the next TeraPro update to include vertical scrolling (or better size adaptation to the available view-port) in the AUv3 as it's quite tall and things get chopped off when used in some hosts...
Anyone know if the IAPs are currently on sale?
I just checked my Store in TeraPro and there are no new updates yet, but as @Philandering_Bastard mentioned above New free update incoming. Audio input and Mfx.
Time to use Tera Pro again 🎉
