Try a different CC number. I vaguely recall that CC0 is reserved and can’t be used. To simplify testing, create a fader in loopy pro that sends the cc you want to use to TS Midi
Confirmed: CC 0 is reserved in ToneStack Pro for bank change.
Thanks. Where did you find that info, I'll bookmark it as a reference
Also, I hit the "Save as UNIT DFLT" in the TS midi learn UI after setting things up, but while I got the midi learn working with a diff cc number as you suggested, It seems to forget the midi learn settings each time I switch to a diff preset in TS and then switch back to the clean wah preset...any ideas there, thought "Save as UNIT DFLT" would do it, but doesn't appear to...Thanks
I realized by trial-and-error that this was the case -- which makes sense since ToneStack uses bank change commands without needing to midi learn them.
Try the other options. Most of what I know about ToneStack Pro is the result of trying them and seeing what works. I don't know TS Pro often enough to know the answer to this without going through the trial-and-error process myself.
I see, thanks. Well, if you do try this scenario, please let me know if you can get it to work (ie: have a preset remember midi learn when recalled/reloaded) bc it's not working for me and I'll try to do some trial and error as well. Thanks
I am sure if you spend some time on it you can figure it out. Realistically, I am not likely to delve into it.
You must enable Load CC Map From Patch in the Tonestack MIDI Settings. It is weirdly not the default. I believe the Save as UNIT DFLT only applies when a unit is added from the menu; it doesn't affect units loaded in a patch.
Thanks @uncledave. Got it working. I thought the patch would include that midi learn meta data once "SET" in the midi learn modal, but realized I had to also save the patch (via the menu taskbar) afterwards in order for that metadata to persist/be saved with the preset. Thanks again
