Yup all 5 of the Sketch Audio IAP apps have free 2 week trials! BlipBox and Phase Monkey do not, but all 5 FX do. Enjoy.

I've heard Galaxy Brain on several AU's and thought it was impressive. Not 15 dollar impressive, but impressive.

The only ones I would encourage buying would be Blip Box and Phase Monkey.

They both are capable of some deep sounds and I always viewed BlipBox as an affordable alternative to FAC Drumkit, but doubt anyone would share that opinion.

I actually reach for Blip Box first for synth drums - I love FAC Drumkit but I use them about 50/50. I got Blip Box before FAC because of the price/sale and it’s stuck with me. I’d say you’re spot on.

Music Apps with IAP Sales - Including the Sketch Audio Sales

Anybody messed with any of these Sketch Audio apps (galaxy brain, doctor vibe, fuzz droid, etc)? Their releases slipped under my radar, but am intrigued 🤔

They all have a free two week trial so you could download one or several to try them out and decide by the time the sale ends. If you like.

Sketch Audio Sale is through September 11th.

Auv3s?! With DEMOS?!? haha, thankya kindly, will definitely try them out

I got scissors when it was new and the price was far, very far from present, don't remember exact but maybe 5$.

Anyway it's a great distortion and glitch plugin.
I am interested in Galaxy Brain as well, but, as someone else said: not for that price. Even with that discount it's a bit steep - not sure what got into them pricing these like so and the synths like that.

Btw: Sketch Audio is not discounted in the Swedish store, don't know about rest of Europa.

Great app and you can do a lot with the free version but there is a cost to upgrade to pro features

I highly recommend Sopranotron 2 as it's my favorite in that series, but I like vox sounds a lot. Also free, also unsupported, works great as IAA and universal.

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sopranotron-2/id1447101182

The violin captures in Sopranotron are also gorgeous! (They're included in Pro too) FYI I did a quick comparison and couldn't hear a significant difference between Pro and '63 and I believe that is you install '63 and Sopranotron you'll then have all the sound sets. I've installed them all for the mo...

    Didn’t know that. Sorry.

  • Lexis audio editor then, that seems free.

Don’t apologise, it’s a great app and it’s perfectly useable in its free version 😁

Almost😁 there are in app purchases for export and splitting the audio. AppRaven is a good app to check what IAPs an app has👍

I checked out Fuzz Droid last night, wasn’t too impressed especially for the price tag. I’ll try Scissors next, thanks!

  • Doctor Vibe is special sauce. Whether you put it on your mix or hot dog, it's great and lots of tweaking possibilities.

What separates it from all the other Lofi apps that rationalizes such a higher sticker price? (Will trial as well of course, but always good to have an owner opinion!)

  • I also am interested, despite knowing I will never pay $15 for it. Needlepoint and lofi - af is like $5 right now and can do so much.

Sketch Audio does sound good, but sounds better at $5.00

I'm curious how much all the marketing lingo in the Trooper app description about analog sound is really noticeable in the sound. I find that I rarely use Yonac synths because there's just that "je ne sais quoi" (to borrow a phrase from the app description) digital edge to them that I can't put my finger on but just don't like.

I wonder if this one would overcome my subconscious dislike of those synths.

Sounds just terrible - I don't know why anyone would pay $7.49 for this:

The Streetlytron '63 Edition : genuine Mellotronics for your iPhone and iPad.

Brought to you in partnership with Streetly Electronics, the inventors of the mellotron, Streetlytron includes a massive collection of 63* tapes from Streetly's Production Masters - exactly the same tapes that ship with their $8,000 M4000 unit.

Playable with the on-screen 3 octave keyboard or by an attached MIDI controller, Streetlytron exposes every internal control to MIDI, allowing performance and recording without ever needing to touch your device. A gorgeous, silky-smooth, ultra-musical reverb unit generates immense spaces, and 8 programmable preset slots set you up for one-touch performance. Totally playable and totally inspiring, for everything from classic psychedelic, vintage progressive, modern chamber pop or avant-garde dance sounds.

Virtual MIDI and AudioBus, with Inter-App Audio support provided by AudioBus.

No In-App Purchases, no hidden extra costs. Pay once, never pay again.

To keep this remarkable app as small as possible, the in-app samples are recorded at minor third intervals, and most in-app samples are looped for continuous play, with a loop duration of 5 seconds. This results in almost 5x reduction in app size**, yet has virtually no audible difference between this '63 Edition and the top-of-the-range Streetlytron Pro Edition. Sample replay within the app uses an advanced cubic spline interpolator, to delivery premium sonic quality.

  • @Coloobar lol, I think Yonac got that amazing demo off fiver. i'm 2nd hand embarrassed for Yonac for that.

Trooper and Gemeni are my two favorite Yonac apps. Trooper is capable of really great sounds.

Well, it has 3 sections but most times I switch the vinyl off, I like it just for an extra bit of saturation/punch and the bit reduction that I happen to like on hats. It mimics old systems. I don't like to crunch things up but you can. You can mix between 2 different presets as well. Doctor Vibe and FAC Punchlab are for me 2 must buys if you work with a beat a lot.

Yeah that demo is awful. I love Trooper but would never pick those sounds from it.
