Good question, you know your stuff! The source sounds are modeled after the main sound in each table. You can still OSC morph from the wave > saw > pulse like the hardware (the default setting of the wave index knob on unit). That will get you closer to the sound of the hardware. Because the sounds had to be recreated to avoid copyright, I focused on the signature sound of each table.
Of course, this is $5 instead of $3000, so it's pretty good for the price. I'd invite people to look at this as a new synth. As Doug's video demonstrated, this app can sound thicker, fuller, and lusher than a real Virus. But the app can still be ice cold and bright, just like the hardware

Ha! I should know it as I've had the good fortune to own one since at least 2008 (memory is hazy...). The variable interpolation on the wavetables is such an amazing feature and one I have not see on another wavetable synth. Setting the parameter just right so that delays or reverbs can juuuuust catch the edge of a sound is really satisfying.
I look forward to giving Viral a try -- I am glad that you decided to tackle this beast and I hope that it does well. A Virus Polar-ish synth for $5 is a no-brainer.

Yeaaa, the sounds are so massive, they overwhelm with their density, I just press a few keys and I feel like I'm in the very center of dystopian soundtrack to a Christophen Nolan movie

Have you gone to the info panel and tapped the moving animation to turn them off? Just tested on Virus, J6 and Nerd, all work the same
(I hadnt wanted/attempted to turn it off precious, but the options already there that i had previous requested lol)
And then Character is gone from all except the info panel, and it's frozen there
Or are you talking about the incorporation of the cartoons for branding in general?
(I don't mean to rehash the topic, I just realized I was wrong in my assumptions about the app until I was messing in Virus)
Have you tried Drum80 from GSi? It uses a synth engine to recreate SDS-V drums.

You should also sell those multisample packs you use for these HW based romplers - i would be glad to buy them to use inside Obsidian, M8 or Digitakt ..
What about making them as independent product - i mean raw multisamples used to build this, Nerd and other HW-based apps.
Like yeah, i can just disable filter, fx and envelopes and sample them by some autosamoler but i am lazy as fuck to fo that, i rather buy them 😂😂😂
Managed to really bork it somehow. Was browsing presets and a DMT preset crashed the audio engine so bad that even reloading the AUv3 in the AUM session wouldn’t bring audio back. I had to restart AUM and reload the session to bring it back. Haven’t seen that before. It sounds good though.
I can get the audio engine to crash every session in AUM. I think it might be to do with Bluetooth headphones? When I disconnect them I get sound back out of the iPad speakers.
Have bought all the audiokit apps.. Now just wondering, how many of them or which one to use in my "instrument mixer". It would be great to have (a best of) audiokit "player" to access most or all of the thousands of sounds from one auv3 instance or maybe thats impossible mission.. I am not complaining just a bit confused and thinking out loudly, always an option to combine these synths to achieve enormous preset sounds in LP or AUM.
I was pleasantly surprised that I had about $6 left after FINALLY getting caught up on all my bills including rent and putting some money aside for next month so I grabbed this. I think I’m gonna do a track entirely made up of Matthew’s apps with nothing else added except drums .
What is the size on disk ( final install size ) ?

@Pxlhg awww, I like the lil fellars. I could see a lil animated skit with all the lil guys and their synthesque personalities. I didn’t like them initially, but as a fan of differing icons - I appreciate ‘em.
