What is the size on disk ( final install size ) ?

I have about 650mb available lol

    Needs 651MB 🤣

...only joking. It takes up 354.2MB on my iPad.

  • Sweet. Was worried about the presets, thx all.

@Pxlhg awww, I like the lil fellars. I could see a lil animated skit with all the lil guys and their synthesque personalities. I didn’t like them initially, but as a fan of differing icons - I appreciate ‘em.

Yeah well, it's always going to be two camps whatever the topic. I've got informed I can get rid of them (I did know you can turn off the animation) but the fact they're on the icons is just pure horror. This (below) looks like a session of children story time is about to start. I can't decide if I'm going to cry or laugh.

Hey @Pxlhg, there are a few other characters as well ;)

So... Beyond seven forests, beyond seven mountains, there lived nine brothers. They were all very musically talented. Hmm, something is wrong... There lived eight brothers and a fox, but the brothers treated him as their own o:) Everyone lived a long and happy life ;)

Well... there may or may not be an easter egg in the app that lets you change the icon. Surprised no one has posted it yet.
I can always add another app icon option without any character (!)

Managed to really bork it somehow. Was browsing presets and a DMT preset crashed the audio engine so bad that even reloading the AUv3 in the AUM session wouldn’t bring audio back. I had to restart AUM and reload the session to bring it back. Haven’t seen that before. It sounds good though.

I can get the audio engine to crash every session in AUM. I think it might be to do with Bluetooth headphones? When I disconnect them I get sound back out of the iPad speakers.

    Thanks Gus!

Do you know what preset it is?

Or, is it changing the audio output? I can reproduce that error. And to @MobyPixel's credit, he brought that to my attention and it's on my list. Any more details are welcome and appreciated

If you ever decide to make a faithful version of the SIMMONS SDS drums (not sample based), you'll forever be my hero.

Have you tried Drum80 from GSi? It uses a synth engine to recreate SDS-V drums.

Yes, I have it on iPad and it's not bad. But it falls short of the original Simmons drums sound in my opinion. Not enough impact. The sounds are lacking in comparison to the desktop software version of the Simmons SDS drums from Aly James.

The smartest thing they did with it was include real high-hat and crash cymbals, because the original Simmons cymbals always sounded terrible.

  • Hello, quick question.. when you record something, where does it go? If you don't choose an option in the pop-up is it gone forever?

Yeah please add an option and also reveal the easter egg: I'm so bad with puzzles. 😃

    Ayeee

  • @AnalogMatthew with all this Character discussion, have you ever considered stickers of these little guys?

Individuals of course, but also a long single with all of em a bit smaller could look good along the edge of a number of things

Initially I was thinking across the long edge of an iPad, but if you're og (gen x hacker, late 90s. "Its in that place where we hid that thing that time" era), for a laptop, bobs yer uncle. But also for the edge of any sticker art surface

Heh and they'd all look badass for controller/sp404 style customization

I'm afraid so... to save space, the temp recordings are deleted after exporting. Sorry if you lost a recording

  • I find the new Viral T2x very refreshing and I already have had more than $5 worth of fun. I am a fan of all Mathew’s apps and have purchased more than I need to show my support. Thankyou Mathew 👍🎶.
I don’t do much with sequencers but this app uses them so well.
I recently acquired Digistix which is synced to my AUM.
Can the arpegiators, sequencers, or LFOs in Viral or SynthOne J6 be synced also to AUM?
    Thanks

Thank you! The LFOs, sequencers and arps in all modern AudioKit apps should automatically sync to the AUM clock.

Just make sure that the seq division isn’t set to a dotted or triplet. Ie use 1/8 instead of 1/8 D

  • Great. Can’t wait to try it.
Excellent support as well as excellent apps👍👏

  • Trance gate. Thank you. Such a powerful tool without having to link any other auv3 effects. Nerd and J6 quickly overtook most of my most other synths because of their cleanly useable interfaces, and now Viral with a more functional layout, LFO’s on one page, toggle buttons for effects/oscillators on the main screen, and the rhythmically awesome Trance gate. So controllable. Killer app. Viral is a proper 2025 futuristic music tool that just ousted most of my other synth apps.

On a side note I want to say thanks to this AnalogMatthew fellow for the intro price for this absolutely stellar app. I would have fretted about it all year until some Black Friday or whatever. Cheers.

Wow, I'm floored reading this. That means a lot. I’m so glad everything is hitting for you...makes all the work worth it.

Really appreciate you and other people saying nice things, it keeps me going.

My apologies Matthew, that cartoon really brings out the worst in me (!), the app looks and sound amazing, well done and congrats on the release.

  • For those of you enjoying the app, may I ask a quick favor?

If you have a moment, leaving a rating/review helps a ton. It is one of the only ways new apps actually get noticed in the App Store:

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/viral-synth-t2x-synthesizer/id6749867472

Plus, it helps drown out the mysterious one star reviewers who seem to have it out for devs 🙏

  • The different colour behind the label of the cutoff knob, does that signify anything? I keep tapping it expecting to get a menu :D

Too dopesick to fully appreciate, but got er tho. Thx Matthew.

    Alt icon is cool too.

  • This synth is great for making samples! Filling up a bank on the Digitakt 2 quick! Great presets
