I had a weird thing happen. I had the arp enabled. I had LFO 1 modulating cutoff. So far so good. Then I enabled LFO 2 and had it modulate the Crush Amt. The ARP slowed down. I repeated it a couple of times but didn't make a video or anything.
Also, the Notch on iPhone 12 covers up stuff on the left-hand side of the standalone interface. Nothing critical, just cosmetic.
Pedro, Pedro, Pedro, Pedro Pe…
VIRAL il meglio di Santa Fe
Pedro, Pedro, Pedro, Pedro Pe…
Fidati di me
Erm… I’m gonna need the actual song, cause your voice is… let’s say, good for typewriting (no offense)
Ha ha, nicely done....and that is exactly the sort of noise I'd expect them to make with their shenanigans. :-)
Hehe, sure
here is a link to the song. Not so long ago, this song was playing non-stop at my work. I hope I hit on your sense of humor
"Pedro... / 'VIRAL' is the best in Santa Fe / Pedro... / Trust me".
I’ve had a good play with this now. What an awesome synth.
I wish you well friend 🪷
AI has peaked 😂
Interesting, Help me understand what I'm seeing... It looks like it is snaping back?
There's an easter egg where if you turn your phone over, it will cover up stuff on the right-hand side 😅
I preordered the new app and like it a lot, the sound and the UI. But I’m going to report a bug. When I switch to a new patch and press D2 on an external MIDI controller, the first press doesn’t always register. The second one always does. Weird, huh?
I’ve tried this on two Korg controllers, both connected through Bluetooth: MicroKey Air 49 and NanoKey Studio. I’ve observed this behavior in standalone mode and when hosted in AUM as an AU, though it seems to happen more in standalone mode. I don’t know if this happens with other keys; I just happened to notice the D2 key because it’s the one that seems “natural” for me to play on the NanoStudio. The D3 key didn’t seem to have the same problem.
I realize that D2 is not the same on all keyboards; I’m talking about the one that registers as D2 on the app’s built-in standalone keyboard.
Thanks again for a wonderful app. The bug I’ve reported here isn’t one, in my opinion, that should discourage anyone from purchasing the app.
Edit: See Wim’s explanation below.
It is visually snapping back but you can see the appropriate filter settings do not get applied on snap back. You can see where after it snaps back i manually wiggle it in that location and then the filter settings take. i will do a better example in a bit.
@AnalogMatthew
Here is a better version. I can see that the position visually snaps back to place but the value should also return. Most x/y pad apps with a snap option return the values back to the snap position. In this case only the visual indicator snaps back and not the actual playback values. At the end of the video I turned snap off and returned it to that position manually. This is what should have happened when I just released it and snap was on.
Does that make sense?
It takes awhile to load patches.
Never heard it before, but it’s good to know I’m so revered in italy.
Oh and I think I found my new ringtone, it’ll be funny watching my co-workers when my phone starts ringing “pedro pedro pedro” 😂
That’s probably it. Now that I’m trying it with the built-in keyboard, I notice the same thing.
I’m having a problem when I use the synth as an auv3 in loopy pro… when I try to change presets while playing a midi loop it doesn’t load the intended preset, instead the auv3 resets and reloads the init preset. This happens about 50% of the time. It’s also given me a message that the auv3 crashed.
Hahaha I love it 😆
That's kinda true for most of this series. They don't really like changing patches on the fly while playing. Nerd and VHS do that too.
I am on a M1 Pro and find the mini keyboard doesn't register keys and skips most of them I try to play
Having a lot of fun with this. Really brings me back… I don’t do much 4 on the floor techno type things anymore but this synth is screaming for it.
Hmmm, in BM3 I seem to have to go into each instance and manually wake the up on loading a session.
You should do the embedded player for the soundcloud impaired.
I normally wouldn’t post this outside of the creations forum but yeah Viral got me inspired.
First half of this is made entirely of AudioKit synths (plus GarageBand drums), with Viral as the lead instrument , and yeah I had to give @analog_matt a shout out for making awesome apps (along with other devs too).
https://on.soundcloud.com/K8UDLAOxLOGIqHuOWQ
(Second half is Redshrike, Mela, and Oscidia , all custom patches, for what it’s worth)
But yeah I’m really impressed with how good this stuff has been. Really , the romplers were good, but these last few releases have been ace . I’ll flat out say Nerd blows Discovery out of the water as far as Nord inspired releases go . King of VHS is my wife’s current obsession especially with a bit of Fauve for seasoning. J6 is not only the best free AU instrument ever, it murders a good portion of paid synths. Viral continues in that proud tradition. It’s in my top 5 synths of the year (this, J6, Elastic OSC, Oscidia, and I think SX1000 was this year too, if not then Streichfett)
I did, not sure why it doesn’t show up.
Okay, I guess the embed code doesn’t work, but just putting the link on its own does.

Gnarly track! 🤙 I don’t really make that genre either, but I’m starting to think I might need this synth anyway
Haven’t been logging on much recently, but got an email about this and just about to get it. Glad to hear all the good feedback.
I think I can improve the patch loading time…
Thanks!
There’s a few of things to rule out first
1) is there an LFO on the filter?
2) the app has the awesome feature that it will record the touch pad movement values into your DAW (the touchpad won’t move on playback, but the filter will for example if that was the destination ). If you had previously had the daw record button while moving the touchpad, there could be multiple things happening.
3) is that just the init XL Distropunk preset with nothing else changed?
Thanks again for your awesome bug finding.
If the above things check out, you found a good bug!
Oh that sounds like a concurrency issue. I finally have a device that can reproduce this. Going to work on all the apps the next few weeks
