The rope was stretched between two skyscrapers. After taking a deep breath, the tightrope walker placed one foot on the rope, then the other, and began to walk across the sky with ease and confidence.
Nice songwriting and great mix (as usual). The extra care for the reverse solo performance can definitely be heard. I think the old reverse reverb trick could have worked wonders here and there to bring even more weirdness. your love for Hendrix and J. Beck shows!
I find your guitar stays more in tune lately, is it the new one?
I hope you'll keep posting here, Paul !
As usual, great use of synths. Mariana is also one of my most used synth lately. The soundscape is great and you added some nice dynamic to keep the track interesting. Win Butler and Regine Chassagne vocals wouldn't be out of place here !
I like your songwriting style, and your guitar parts.
Your vocals have a strong identity. Those evolve in Stephen Malkmus, Syd Barrett, sometimes Stephin Merritt territory but manage to stay entirely unique, which is really great. Glad to have you posting here regularly, keep them coming !
Thank you @richardyot for the SOTMC and for the great job you did with my bassline.
Thank you @unlink for the collab, I love the result
Thanks to those who took the time to listen and comment with or without contributing @tahiche @Squishy @pbelgium @Ailerom @NoiseHorse @peanut_gallery. We're here to exchange not for self promotion, let's keep the spirit of the thread alive !!!
Great stuff!! Very cool blend of harmonies / chord progression ! Might have to check out more of this genre (whatever it is
).
Sorry I missed this post 😮
Love the guitar, the rhythm is so lively and engaging, and the song is charming. The vocals really remind me of David Berman, with that almost spoken quality. The extended musical outro is great as well!
Thanks! I think this one falls under the genre "Noise Rock" 😅
@richardyot
Very interesting direction. I assume that’s because of JanKun’s bass part. The song has an inherent push and drive to it that meshes well with both the music and lyrics. Most excellent.
@benjaminprofane
Catchy beginning. Love the subtle singing voice that sneaks in unexpectedly. Stays terrific all the way through. Really like this one. Top notch.
@unlink
Cool nightclub feel. Seems to hold time still as the room slowly spins around. Everything glistens and gleams as the stage lights shift to a sharper focus. Then everything calms down. Did I just wake up from a dream?
@studs1966
As usual, you have given us a highly polished and professional song. This one has a solid beat paired with some soulful singing.
@pbelgium
Hits that sweet spot where calm rock edges up to its border with jazz. The recurring guitar notes lay a firm foundation before the shimmering electric guitar licks send it skyward.
@peanut_gallery
Energetic without being overpowering. Has a real sense of dynamic motion. Lots of interesting variations as it moves forward. I especially like the distinct final section, which summarizes and enhances the previous parts.
@NoiseHorse
Fine guitar work with a tune that reveals a keen sense of humor. Who knew a To-Do list could be so entertaining?
