Glad to hear it could be of help. The inner Drambo plug-ins are as said by @timfromtheborder for getting to record the midi to outer Drambo. It could be any midi plug-in that sends out its incoming midi. I chose D in the hope that almighty @giku_beepstreet has super optimized code between inner and outer Drambo. Perhaps choosing a more lightweight plugin is better, but this setup has served me well.

I never thought of that. It's true, even Streambyter AUv3 can be used for this. I'm guessing that would be a much lighter weight choice than Drambo. Even if there are optimizations, I'm sure there's significantly more overhead in a Drambo AUv3 instance than something like Streambyter.

I tested in a project with just a Channel Filter module and Streambyter on each track. It works great.

Is it normal that I can't insert Streambyter into Drambo? It somehow doesn't appear in my plugin list. It appears in Loopy Pro tho.

Hey if it works it works. I find there’s usually ten different ways to get things done in Drambo.

    True!

Are you looking for it in the right place? It shows up under the MIDI category.

That is where I was searching, humm... I will try turning my iPad off and then on again :P

  • Okay, it's there now. @wim, do I need to setup something particular inside StreamByter?

  • Sounds like fun! I love Piano Motifs and use it all the time. Be sure to post your end results in Creations. Looking forward to hearing it. Maybe there will be something I can “borrow “.

I work hard to find a way out the infamous 8-bar loop... It's been almost a year since I began making music more regularly and with Drambo, I can feel it's nearer then ever. Just need to learn it's basics, which is pretty much done. I really look forward to get my music out!

Nope. Just make sure your each midi channel filter module is hooked up to Motifs and each StreamByter instance is hooked up to the midi filter module. Press Rec on each StreamByter instance in the tracks you want to record. Then press play in Drambo.

I'm not completely sure what you mean by "there". I haven't looked at the template you may be working from. I've only tested with a simple setup

    • Midi Generator on the Main track.
    • Each track:
      • Midi Channel Filter hooked up to the Midi Generator and set to filter for the channel you want to record
      • StreamByter MIDI FX (be sure to get the right plugin) hooked up to the midi channel filter

Too busy for screenshots right now, so I hope that's clear enough.

It works, thanks @wim. Initially, StreamByter wouldn't show up in Drambo. After restarting the iPad, it was "there". I recreated @bleep's setup but with StreamByter and a synth + extras on each track and everything works as expected. ✌🏻
