What Apps are you waiting to buy for Black Friday?
I've been really careful with apps lately as a retired musician but always waiting for great specials!
I have my eyes on several like Scaler 2, Dronage perhaps? Or Reels LoFiTape. Wires app looks so cool too but so expensive.
Fluss looks amazing too!
I might jump on Progressions now as I really like to help Paul and I really been wanting that app for a while.

Comments
I haven’t purchased drambo or patterning 3 - those are pretty much my list at the moment.
But then whatever pops up in the sales seems to pique my interest and off I go saving money.
Battalion
GSDSP Magic Pitch & Magic Fusion
MorphWiz 2
Jax One Frequency Shifter
I'm hoping the Tal U-NO-LX goes on sale as well as Bleass Megalit. iPad apps of course.
I have not yet purchased Springs by AudioThing. I think this is the year to do it. I love the sounds.
Synthmaster 3 and that’s it, definitely no more apps 🤥
Is it out on iPad?
Knock https://apps.apple.com/us/app/knock/id6443654114
Looperator IAP

Transit 2
Ok, that's not Black Friday but I was about to pick up Transit 1 when the iOS port of 2 was announced, so I held off. And it's close enough that "ITS REAL TO ME, DAMMIT... It's real to me"
I thought Punchlab is just like Knock only way more affordable. I love Punchlab.
Oh sht! Thanks for helping me figure out I completely misread the DubFX Loopy Spotlight video
He talks about his beatboxing and transient shapers. He also shows running FAC Transient and Knock on top of each other
I misremembered seeing Punchlab and Knock in conjunction... And have had Knock on wishlist to try it out when not $30
But yeah, you're probably right on Punchlab handling the same utilities
Gonna make sure that I'm NOW understanding right - gonna run thru some videos and forums to see if it's actually worth it to have both, or if Punchlab fully does the trick (already got punchlab to boot, so my ignorance is real)!
Steppolyarp and stria
Knock has its own special sauce and the -2db instant headroom is a nice touch
SPA never on sale.
I was bummed I recently missed out on both GR-16 & BAM on sale for Halloween.
But then just yesterday I dusted out Korg Gadget on my Nintendo Switch and got really into it.
So now I guess I’m going all in with Gadget for my iOS music production. Aside from buying the main app, I’ll also probably get Kamata, Bilbao, & Vancouver.
I’ve been checking the IAP for Cyclop daily so hopefully that will happen on BF and maybe OneShot!
Then I won’t be buying it.
In fact, it has steadily increased in price over time.
It also regularly gets updates.
Old complaints about midi input are moot, and you can even set your own scales. Plus, the purchase also gets you the mac version.
I like that the price is static without sales, especially when the price feels reasonable for what it does.
Not affiliated, just really like the app
Tera Pro went on sale a week or so ago. I'm getting that and BrainZ, because $5 apiece is just too good a deal for such power.
Hoping Bias FX2 will go on sale, so I can grab some amps, but it has never been discounted as per AppRaven's history.
Still debating between Cubasis 3 and Audio Evolution Mobile Studio. AE is reasonably priced as it is, but if it goes on sale, that's my decision made.
Nothing else really has my interest right now...maybe Borderlands
Probably whatever bram bos decides to put on sale that I don’t own. I love his apps and it seems like he discounts a handful every BF.
Stacks and Strokes are on my list, but I doubt they’ll go on sale. A bundle deal would tempt me too, but again it seems unlikely.
Skulptur is my remaining missing Bram Bos, so watching out for that one.
Also Looperator, but I check every year, and every single time it gets a lower percentage reduction than their other apps. One day!
Hoping for a Sugar Bytes sale. May finally pick up Dialekt.
On that subject, can I ask, what is the difference between the iPhone and iPad versions? Optimized interface for iPad and audio single outs are the only extras the iPad version gives as far as I can see?
Anyone know of any other differences - @Gavinski, maybe?
Hi Robin, I'm not sure I can remember accurately now, as I don't use iPhone myself, but if you look at the main Dialekt thread it was definitely discussed. Multi out was one difference for sure, phone version doesn't have that, whether it was the only difference, I can't recall. Have they still not added that info clearly to the AppStore description? They really should lol
Usually KORG stuff is good to grab on sale. I like that their IAPs go on sale. Usually a good time to grab Module or Gadget expansions.
I recently used Gadget on Switch for the 1 hour song challenge posted by @jwmmakerofmusic and it was really fun. I think the game and DLC goes on sale sometimes for Switch. Eventually I want to get the DLC on Switch + iPad. Looks like you’re able to get just the gadgets standalone on desktop too which is cool. I love Gadgets on tablets, but it feels a bit too much of a toy to spend $300 on the whole thing to use on desktop.
I’m hoping a Pianoteq license will be discounted.
That would be good
Yeah, I wouldn't buy Gadget on Desktop, especially since I've dumped a lot of money into the Korg iOS ecosystem over the past decade. 😂 I have every last Gadget-compatible app and IAPs and etc. Now that we can use gadgets in other AUv3 hosts like Cubasis and AUM, I barely use the Gadget app itself.
But all that said, I do love Korg Gadget.
I'm truly hoping someday Korg ports the Korg Trinity VST and Prophecy VST to IOS! That will be a dream come true. Does Korg visit our forums anymore?
I think I know the answer, but would you pick up the standalone desktop Gadgets vs the whole DAW? I feel like you don’t do desktop much so I think the answer would be “not interested in either”. But I do think that’s cool to have the option to get just the plugins and not the whole DAW.
The only reason I think desktop would be worth it is if you do 90% of your music making in Gadget and want to bring it to desktop. Sure you can export the MIDI and configure the gadget plugins in a DAW, but I don’t know if that brings over the settings and such.
Thanks for responding @Gavinski, really appreciate it. Yeah, it was me that asked the developer on the main thread when it was released - I just wondered whether anything had been added exclusively to the iPad version since then to justify the big price difference?
Nope, they still don’t explicitly say what’s different between the two versions in the AppStore listings - the only difference in the features list is the very easy to miss audio single outs for the iPad version.
Very strange pricing discrepancy between the two versions in my opinion. Considering the higher price, I also don’t understand why they don’t sell the iPad version as a bundle to include the iPhone version for the same asking price - currently, if you want to use it on both devices without buying both apps, the logical choice is the cheaper iPhone version not the more expensive iPad version surely? (In fairness, I guess that might be down to the technicalities of iaps and bundles? Got a feeling the developer said something along those lines actually.)
Anyway, hopefully they have a sale. Many thanks again, cheers.
