On desktop it’s both sub and one time

Good luck to the developer. This is the way this stuff is going. AI will be embedded in every part of the production process and I’m predicting Logic Pro and GarageBand will have features like this built in soon enough.

Aye, I noticed that. I'm just unfamiliar with the developer, and using a flashy ethos-naming convention of throwing AI in the name, theyre trending towards sub models more and more

All that said, it's probably more my cynicism leaking out in the form of I Said It First knee-jerk reactions to new app announcements that have no baring on legit facts or resources

Which basically renders my first paragraph moot

    Damn

  • This sounds very cool. I’m betting subscription though, but of course would be happy to be proven wrong

Yeah I would love some AI assistance with mixing as I find eqing every track to be such a tedious part of the process. Would love an AI EQ that gets all my tracks in the ballpark ready for final tweaks at the end.

There’s a one time purchase option for desktop

Or an EQ that constantly readjusts so you can add or subtract elements and it makes room in the mix for you.

    Nice, options!

  • $59 bucks? That’s more than reasonable . @ninobeatz , where’d you get the iOS pricing and thanks !

  • Great looking app, can’t wait to get my old Kazoo looked out and play in something very creative and original to see how it transforms.
I have to say though.. anticipation being 9/10ths of the pleasure and all that. The 303 that was mentioned several times was a gigantic letdown to my ears at least. I’m sure (hoping) that there are better examples out there.
I’m also hoping that there is a vast array of instruments to choose from including other retro synths since the bloke was saying it’s what I’ve been waiting for - but in the video the options only seemed to include slap bass, TB303, Alto sax, cello, trumpet, strings and talk box as far as I could see. Given that the 303 sounds well dodgy, that would only leave me interested in the talk box as I can do without the rest.

The midi thing also I’m not quite fully understanding - will it convert your voice to midi notes for playing your own synths etc?

I started to rant about AI and decided to pull my post so that I didn't take away from this developer's software.

    Never mind.

    You and me both lol

  • I don't know how to sing and can't find a vocalist so I might get this even though I hate AI.

  • Their website says it can be used to restore audio, but the video on their YouTube regarding audio restoration is just playing poor recording quality through one of their voice models. I was hoping to take a headphone mic recording of me and restore it to a better version of my voice. That I’d love.

I wonder if there will be an actual restoration element to this at some point?

I think you’d have to train a system with a good quality recording of your voice before you could do what you’re describing. The system would need a baseline model to be able to remove unwanted artifacts.

Check out ElevenLabs and see if there’s anything of value there for you. https://elevenlabs.io/

Thanks for the ElevenLabs tip! I guess more what I was getting at is that MicDrop says it can do something that it cannot, but what you’re saying makes sense.

Might as well be a template for most consumers

These tools are over-hyped, but also infantilized when they’re called out, yet also hyped up into deity potential levels by zealots. It’s exhausting.

Agreed. That is why the freely available open source tools are the bees knees and will save humanity!!!!

Believe it or not, humanity is not at great risk. These are tools that people can choose to use or not use and none of them will die because of that decision.

Except for the several teenagers who committed suicide while being told to by chat gpt and that one tech millionaire who murdered his mother because he was being gassed up in his paranoia then committed suicide or that one elderly man who was thinking he was helping a person who kept promising they were real (it was Metas IG fake one) and got lost and died because of exposure, or those deadly fumes from the data centers, or the people who will inevitably kill themselves because of job insecurity

Not gonna bother linking cause we both know you don’t care but they’re easy finds for anyone else interested

Just another egg in the omelet.

I mean when the actual bosses of AI companies are saying that within the next 5 years Gen AI could replace 50 percent of entry level white collar workers and it sounds like a warning, I think it's more than just something we can give or take.

And not counting that, not counting the AI psychoses, not counting that ai generated content is eclipsing human made content on social media, and has already eclipsed it on the internet in general. not counting the fact that conpanies like meta are literally and measurably poisoning people with their data centres.

If it is just all a big bubble that's about to burst, the bubble is bigger than the dot com bubble, bigger than the sub prime bubble, when it bursts so many people are going to be hurt, and we will end up paying when the governments bail out these snake oil salesmen.

I'm sorry but AI can suck a fuck
