what hardware did you get in 2025 that you're really happy with?
Another year another "what cool thing did you get this year?" thread.
I think it's fine to post no matter what kind of hardware- synth, groovebox, table saw, coffee maker...
One thing I've liked is my new, very slim ratchet wrench that has made tweaking our bicycles easy.
Also got a good deal on a Push 3 with free Ableton Suite so I'm learning all that. The Push is fun and exceeds my expectations. I wanted Ableton Live but it's pretty expensive and I wanted Koala in hardware form so when this deal came up I decided to take a chance and I'm happy I did.
What have you been enjoying in 2025?
Comments
I got a LaunchKey Mk3 that I’m liking more and more. It took a while to set up and I’m still learning some new features but it’s pretty straightforward. I do wish the keys themselves were better and had after touch. It works a lot better as an integrated Mac controller than iPad.
I got a wah pedal again. The same OG Dunlop Cry Baby I had back in the day. Hasn’t gotten a ton of use since pedals by default start adding more chords quickly.
The Axe IO has been great and fun to do ToneX captures with. It’s really cool to reamp my guitar using iOS effects. I’d like to get it integrated in a live rig.
I got my Mac Mini M2 this year and would be a fan minus the lack of storage. 256 GB means I’m really limited on what I can install. But it was only $300 and I needed a MacOS environment fast.
This nice diatonic accordion, in fact I got 2 of them!
Wow, that was a great deal on the Push and Studio!
My Telepathic Instruments Orchid is my favorite hardware buy in 2025. It’s truly an ideas machine. I love how portable it is and fun to use.
MPC live 3. It’s endgame good.
I recently got a few effect pedals I’m enjoying quite a bit. Nothing too crazy for me but I’m enjoying them way more than I expected. Mostly using them on my electric piano but sometimes with my guitar or syynths too
Boss - RT2 Rotary Ensemble
ElectoHarmonix - Attack Decay
Earthquaker Devices - Night Wire
Chroma Console multi effect. https://www.hologramelectronics.com/products/chroma-console?variant=50128739533104
I’m enjoying it so far - lots to explore.
iPhone 16 Pro Max. I switched to Android earlier this year, but oftentimes I find myself waiting for the bus. Android is not known for being great for music creation, so I switched back to iPhone. 😂
And my SMK-25 Bluetooth controller. I still like to rock that once in a while.
Yes this thing is in my arsenal, it is a great sound goodifier
Deluxe nose-hair trimmer:
Hizumitas fuzz pedal. You could knock down walls with this thing, and it sounds great regardless of what you play through it.
Soma Lyra 8 and Cosmos
Stylophone CPM-DS 2
Lefty‘s Sound Lab Dark Matter
I think that’s enough drone.
🤣
I keep thinking about it. I have maschine mk3 still but it isn’t really portable, but i have a lot invested in ni environment. Looks like a lot it ni stuff is now compatible with mpc tho so maybe I’ll see how that works out.
Got the Digitakt 2, and it’s amazing I’ve made a lot of full tracks im happy with on it!
Lol.
Man, I got Black Beast Lyra-8 this year myself, found it crying in the corner of Guitar Center’s used section 😂
The Lyra sanctuary and rewilding program.
Wavy Industries Monkey
Tiny Bluetooth keyboard. I've been travelling too much lately for work. This + my iPad (or iPhone) is a great way to work on music while in a tight airplane seat.

I got a smashed up Juno 106, a damaged, Kawai R100 and a broken Yamaha DX11.
Did a full restoration on the Juno and added the Kiwi Upgrade.
Repaired the Kawai R100 drum machine and added the Rom upgrade
I fixed the broken end cheek and a key on the DX11. Cleaned all the contacts put in a New Battery and reinstalled the original patches and programs via sysex
Fantastic!
🤯
@zvon that accordion is beautiful
I just watched a video of the Orchid. It looks like fun and it sounds good.
Guitars: Squier Affinity Junior HSS (24"), Jet JS-300 Mini (22.75"), locking tuners Gotoh SG381-07 MG
Wireless guitar transmitter/receiver: Mooer GWU4
I hope for iPad Pro M5 in 2026
iPad mini (A17 Pro). Enough as the stage sound module; I don't touch the screen, everything's on LaunchKeys 49. Fits better below MC-101 on the stand.
Greetings, Voytec G
Hologram Electronics Microcosm (used from ebay) - just makes anything sound amazing...(but I use it far too much...)
Fieldtone Weaver and Box of Uncertainty (https://www.fieldtone.uk/)
Synthux Academy Audrey II and Spotykach (love what these guys are doing - not for profit organisation turning out some very cool hardware (https://www.synthux.academy/)
A 1933 Vincent Bach long (American style) cornet, from when Bach was in current terms a boutique shop, 8 years after the very first Bach trumpet, about 5 after the long cornet made for Bix Beiderbecke which is in a museum. Found randomly, bought impulsively, working very well for the sessions I play.
And with slightly more direct relevance… some Erica Synths Black-series Eurorack modules due to a modular clear-out to pay for the cornet growing legs... VCO2 which sounds great and has a less-common double-saw waveshape and built-in preset LFOs for this and PWM. Modulator v2 which gasp has pink noise in the LFO/Noise/S&H featureset. And a dual ring modulator with cross fader.
I picked up a Push 3 (controller version) in their sales last week. I already have a Launchkey Mk 4 controller, but the Push provides visual feedback on the encoders - so along with the pads and MPE capability, is a much better option for recording and playing live.
I had an Arturia Minifuse on my list, but find the built-in push interface good enough for recording audio in, so that one’s on hold.
I already have the Live Suite, so pretty full-in now with the Ableton ecosystem. Not a bad thing - great update yesterday - in particular the new stem splitting function is really good, and seems to produce better results than what I get using Logic.
Still on my list (second hand) is a Make Noise O-Coast, which can be controlled via the Push.
I also bought a chainsaw.
Love the Box of Uncertainty. It turns anything into a hazy rhythm. Wish it had a way to trigger the sampling with a foot switch to similar.
I've only ever used it on the desktop - not as a pure pedal but I guess that could be useful - they're based down the road from me - I'll have a word...!
They've just released Weaver as a Eurorack module if anyone's interested...
Toyota Rav 4 full hybrid AWD...with JBL sound system
finally, Zoom LiveTrak L-6 – a loooooong overdue to myself.
