  • Amazing work @LFS

Thank you for the early Christmas gifts. 👊🏽💗🎚️

    Hi @Samu,

Good catch! A quick and easy workaround is to reduce the zoom factor slightly - can you confirm this?
Thankfully, it’s just a small cosmetic issue. Will share this with our engineering.

    Thanks again,
    Lars

Yeah, it’s a purely cosmetic thing.
Really enjoying the vertical mode too :)

  • Thank you @LFS, great update! How large is the download size for Verve and Etude?

  • @Jer4 said:

    Thanks @Jer4

    Etude - 737 MB
    Verve - 1,5 GB

    Hope that helps!

    Best,
    Lars

  • I must say Verve sounds good to my taste.

  • I definitely didn't need any more pianos but they are very nice and the only way left I could pay Steinberg for all their work. As a huge fan of Yamaha pianos I'm sure I'll find a use for them.

  • How does one engage the portrait mode btw?

    Hi @Krupa,

Normally, simply holding the iPad in portrait mode should make Cubasis appear in portrait mode.
    Are you on iPadOS 26?

    Best regards,
    Lars

  • Thanks for the update, well appreciated 👊❤️🧠

Really nice update! Amazing to see lots of little stability and flexibility improvements too! 🙏🙏🙏

While we’re all here, a few things I’d absolutely love to see in a future update are:

    1. Plugin Delay Compensation (talked to death, but I’ve had many tracks get wonky due to the lack of this, feels necessary personally for me to rely on CB3).

    2. Groups:
A ) I’d love to see groups behave more like folders, where you can fold tracks down in big projects to help organisation.
B ) More flexible group routing - I want to send groups to groups. For example, I’ll have a load of vocal tracks that I want to mix/process in their own separate groups (main vocals, harmonies, ad libs), which then I want to process all together, perhaps for side-chaining or for automating transitions. Or maybe I want to process sections of a kit in different ways (multiple kicks, multiple hats, snares/claps), then bring them back together to run them through a tape sim/compression or again some transition FX. I do this sort of stuff all the time in Logic and regularly hit the 3 summing stack limit!

    3. Definitely a bit less crucial to me than the above points, but it’d be amazing to be able to do comping in CB3! Logic’s comping on iPad sucks, so there’s still nowhere on the platform with proper take lane functionality, which would be huge for my process personally!

The update log says it's for "iPads and Android tablets" only.

  • I’ve been playing guitar a lot more into my iPad, so the amp sims should be cool to try! Input/output selection is great, so it’s having a built in tuner. Portrait mode is a nice option.

What does external monitor support entail? Same with Bluetooth recording can someone elaborate a bit?

If we get multi out AUv3 fx then Cubasis would be the first music program I launch without fail. I’m really itching for a multi-threading/core host with multi-out fx.

  • Congrats to the Cubasis team, sounds like a great release! And you got it shipped before year-end, now enjoy your holiday!

Hey Lars - really hope you guys consider portrait mode for the iPhone. I think this would be huge as no app has really done this yet.

Portrait on iPhone would be great but I expect it would need a lot more changes to the UI layout.

  • The update doesn’t seem to be available on ios 16.7 (the most recent available for my ipad). The appstore show 3.8, but there’s no option to update and no explanation about minimum o.s. Requirements. It’s a shame, because Cubasis 3 still works pretty well for me.

Ah, thanks, I missed that. Still a shame, though, but I guess times move on.
