Korg Gadget works great in portrait on iPhone…
Thanks for all your kind feedback so far! We hope you enjoy using the new update!
Best,
Lars
Fantastic work @lars and team. Wonderful to see external monitor support but is there anyway to have floating windows so the mixer or external plugin windows could display on iPad while the timeline etc displays in the external monitor? It’s great being able to use full screen on a proper monitor but always so sad to see my iPad screen just sitting there, empty and void of content 😁
Gadget is great in portrait, plus other app like Drambo, Ableton Note etc. although not full DAWs like Cubasis.
Apps on iPhone generally feel much better in portrait for me.
N-Track works in portrait with mixed results but will be hoping the Cubasis team look to add it in future.
Ahh doh, I thought it would be for the phone, love me a proper portrait phone app, gadget is fantastic for that…
Yeah I’m huge fan of Koala and Gadget. Loopy pro seems like the closest to what I was hoping this new Cubasis update was - also the way the midi editor in Koala works. Just so much easier to arrange and view the timeline in portrait mode. Mabye solution is to hide all the channel strip stuff in portrait and just have solo / mute.
Good lord, glad to see Cubasis is doing well!
Yep - a shame. And no, I'm not going to buy a new device because of that!
You guys did a marvelous top notch pro level job!!!!
Thank you Cubasis Dev team & Merry Christmas!
As a bassplayer I love this update!
I haven't tried the amp sims yet, but that is a very thoughtful addition. In keeping very nicely with Cubasis' approach of providing an as much friction free creative process as possible. 👍🏼😎
same here, feels a bit like being left behind
but I don't use the iPad for making music anymore anyway, so that's not too much of a shock
I am, and the pianos are a very good touch, but do you know if/when a proper drum module like Groove Agent will be added? On iOS we can use Koala as an AUv3, but on Android there is no dedicated drum module.
I just bought BLEASS arpegiator and trying it for the first time. Their seems to be stuck note when I stop Cubasis from playing. Anybody else get that ?
I also get this problem using other AUv3 apps in Cubasis 3, if I quickly tap the start twice it does the trick but at the same time the screen size changes!
I've played with the guitar one all evening here and it's really growing on me, especially using the "artist" presets included as a starting point. There's even a good very discrete wah I just have to get connected to my pedal (it's a pre warning I might have to bug you with the how to ☺️ now, sleeep).
@LFS
When I play a track played with Scaler 2 everything sounds in time with the rest of my song. But if I try to record the midi from Scaler 2 onto my track it’s being played and recorded 1/4 bar behind.
You can see Scaler is on the first track and you can see the midi was recorded on 1/4 bar late. But it the firs chord that is played.
Also see my comment about BLEASS Arpegiator above.
Well this update has been an absolute disaster. Booted it up and Cubasis wouldn’t recognize my audio interface (Axe IO One) and also prevented any other apps from using the audio device. It’s also not finding any of my plugins and removed them from my projects. At first it didn’t even recognize the Axe IO, but now it does - it still doesn’t output audio though. Even when I put the Axe set to audio monitoring for the DI. Really weird. It’s running into a powered USB Hub which is running into a powered Apple USB adapter, and I’ve checked settings. Restarted the iPad as well. That was the only way to get the Axe IO to be recognized.
I imagine I’ll reach out to support but man this seems to be my luck with Cubasis. It takes three or four restarts to get my plugins and interfaces working properly, I say “screw this”, come back a few months later for it to work better, and then an update upends everything.
Edit: Let me not be too hasty to judge and update the latest OS (though I’ve been putting that off for storage reasons).
Interesting, it does not stop when I double click the start. Screen change size ?
You must be on iOS 26? I am on 18.7.2
Ah, yes, I am on OS26, but the occasional note still sticks until I double tap PLAY.
How’s 26 treating you ?
This has been happening forever, although I think it's the Arp, not Cubasis.
Updated but still having the same issue of killing all audio output from my interface and no AUv3 plugins. Anyone else?
It’s not just Scaler, the delayed recording is happening with other midi plugins I have tried such as the Rozetta ones.
Hi @FizzyLizzy27
Please give the following steps a try:
Does this help resolving the problem?
Please keep me updated.

Lars

Hi Lars,
After the update you can no longer use bluetooth audio (headsets). When using your bluetooth headphone you get terrible sound coming out, suspecting that the headphones mic getting activated and ruin the sound completely.
Have tested several headphones and earbuds and its all the same, headset microphone is active all the time and totally ruins the sound somehow. I tried restarting iPad, tried new project with both built in piano and au pianos and other instruments. When disconnect bluetooth audio sound is normal again.
This have always worked just fine before update. Now it seems the only temporary solution to this is to use wired headphone which ruins the freedom of portability and a cable free setup. please look into this it’s very disapointing. I guess we are many that wants to use our wireless headphones/buds etc when making our music.
Best Regards
Hi all,
Thank you so much for all your feedback, which is greatly appreciated!
We’re happy to see many of you enjoying the Cubasis 3.8 update and the new Verve and Etude piano apps. At the same time, we’re aware that some users are experiencing issues with the recent update.
Cubasis 3.8 brings many new features, improvements, and fixes, but as DAWs are complex, changes can sometimes introduce unexpected issues despite thorough internal and external testing.
I’ve collected all reported problems, which will be reviewed by our engineering team shortly, with the goal of providing solutions in an update aimed to be released in early 2026.
Best regards,
Lars
Sorry for the bad language (but) who did this to us?
