Can’t say I’ve ever seen one of these crash, phone, tablet or PC/Mac… pretty much every time I plug my guitar in the DC30 gets booted up, though I don’t mess with the settings much outside of the input gain
Never had a problem with Nembrini, but I don't have that one either - the track I posted here had 37 instances (multiple amps, fx and IRLoaders) playing without a whimper.
FWIW, with the 6 amp sims and IR loader of theirs that I use, I’ve not had a single crash.
Would be interesting to know why others write comments along the “no problems here” line. Thread is about a specific app and users trying to establish issue and get app fixed. Gavinski comment states other apps by dev have issue which I can confirm at least 1 other. Everyone works in their own siloed way and may experience issues others don’t.
The reason is that if someone posts (as Gavinski did) that a particular developer’s apps generally crash a lot — it is valuable to the community to have a sense of whether that statement is true or not. Even though the statements aren’t responsive to the initial post, they are responsive to the comment we replied to.
True for some, not for others. All depends on which myriad of ways the user works. 🤷🏼♂️
There's another reason for making such comments, and that is to help get at the root of the issue. Just telling a developer that the app crashes is little help without more specific data. Sometimes, flushing out the context helps.
If someone says that apps from the developer are buggy in general, and nobody provides contrasting data, then the troubleshooting path is different than if the developers apps are stable in general but just that app is having problems.
I can't speak for others, but I don't usually comment on posts like that just to hear myself talk. The reason is to try to help gather specifics for better problem reporting.
@Schmotown - btw
@NembriniAudio was last active here January 2023. So @Zerozerozero 's point about contacting the developer directly is important.
Yeah I always try to mention something about how I use whatever it is that is under investigation, it might help diagnose or isolate the problem even for the user who is facing issues…
Thanks @wim. To be clear, I’m a pretty big fan of Nembrini. I own nearly all of their apps on the iPad and a dozen or so more on the Mac. I’ve only ever experienced issues with two of them, both seemingly related to Logic Pro for iPad. One is the aforementioned problem wherein launching The Voltour in Logic kills all audio on that channel. Sometimes closing and reopening Logic restores functionality to The Voltour but usually not. I will report this to Nembrini shortly.
I’ve reported the other bug twice over the past year but no update has been issued. When using IR Loader in Logic for iPad, I can open the file browser within the plugin but I can neither navigate around the browser nor select an IR file to load. It’s frozen. IMO, IR Loader is the very best app for working with guitar amp speaker IRs so this situation has been pretty frustrating. My half-baked solution has been to use IR Loader in standalone mode to create presets which are then available when using the app as a Logic plugin.
