I will just elaborate my issues with the current trim functionality and easy to reproduce steps.
On the positive side the file is correctly trimmed but the start & end points for the audio-event cause incorrect playback due to not being correctly set.
Tapping on the files 'first' audio event of the file (ie. left of the first split-point) trim works as expected.
Other 'improvements' (especially when editing longer audio files) would be that both 'Normalize' and 'Reverse' do a 'New File With Selection'(using the events start and end-points) instead of duplicating the entire source file?!
If one ads say 50 splits to 5 minute file and proceeds to edit the resulting audio events (using reverse, normalize fade in/out etc.) one ends up with a load of those 5 minute files baked into the project.
This is why I prefer to trim my audio events prior to editing them...
The important thing here is that I now know what is going and and how to manually fix it, but having to remember work-arounds for things that should 'just work' take the joy out of eating audio with Cubasis
I'm quite sure this will be sorted out in due time!
I updated to iOS 26 ans> @god said:
Edit one and copy / paste to the other spot.
You mean, to the other 37 occurrences of the repeating pattern, every time I make even the littlest parameter or automation adjustment? Nah, I’ll pass..
I'm with @god ; is there really ONLY Xequence 2 (which is not even available on the french appStore) that supports linked clips on iOS ?
Nanostudio 2 has it too! along with support for multiple lanes per single AUv3 instnace, But NS2 lacks useful features itself.. so it's a trade-off.
Cubasis does not do per clip automation. If you have midi clip playing 37 times and it’s important to be able to modify maybe you should use something like Helium and loop your part.
Yeah ecou, I know it doesn't.. it's just part of the big issue and that there is no linked patterns, that include clip parameters and automation.. they ideally will be all linked together (no pun intended).
Good to know, even if I don't remember the last time I've used Nanostudio 2 (I really need audio tracks).
Add BM3 to the list of hosts/sequencers that support linked clips/events...
Thanks @Samu ; it's really strange that such an essential feature still hasn't been added to Cubasis
Obviously I do not know anything about the internals of Cubasis 3 codebase and how it is written, but being a software developer myself, I can only assume adding such a feature (pattern linking, automation linking, anything linking) is not going to be an easy feat. If it were - it probably would have been added by now.
What is essential for one user might not always be essential for everyone else
I usually like to add small variation to the 'copies' which in practice makes the new events/regions/clips so for me personally it's not 'essential' but could be a 'nice to have' feature.
As for automation in general having both 'event based' and 'track based' automation would definitely be another 'nice to have'.
For a DAW I personally feel it's more 'essential' to get the basics like midi and audio-editing working as expected before adding additional 'stuff'.
We'll have to wait and see what 2026 brings...
You are right. More than "essential", this kind of feature seems, imoh, to be "obvious". 🤔
I purchased Cubasis upon its initial release, and I've been regularly requesting linked clips for the past 12 years. I also find this feature essential for composing, and I've spent a lot of time working on ideas in Nanostudio 2 and Xequence 2 as a result.
Recently Sand sequencer added this feature based on user requests, so that's another option for those who need linked clips.
@LFS I am still struggling with many midi arpegiator. BLEASS arp, ARP bud.
Well it seems Cubasis is remembering non existing midi clips. Really weird.
HNY 2026 everyone!
All issues have been shared, and we're in preparation of Cubasis 3.8.2.
Best,
Lars
Great news! Thank you Lars.
Thank you Lars, I hope the invisible Program Change/MIDI events and erratic MIDI track lengthening when using a ePencil issues are also addressed.
Mike
I can’t replicate the erratic behavior using my Apple Pencil…
and a shy reminder that the audio gap when turning modules on/off in the new (fantastic sounding) amp is still there. @pbelgium mention this before the last update but it wasn't added as a fix, hopefully this time around?
Everything was fine until the Cubasis v3.8 update, some days it does it and other days it’s ok.
As I mentioned on the forum - I tried using three different third party ePencils and I get the same erratic results on two iPads, Lars hasn’t even acknowledged my reported issue! so it might not get fixed, on some occasions when dragging the extender handle the track completely disappears and only the UNDO tab brings it back.
Mike
There is no volume or output in Verve.
It responds beautifully to Midi CC#7 (Volume) when used with a controller and most hosts when used as an AUv3 provide control over volume
But sure, it could use an a level (Out) control which is present in the other piano app they released...
Hi @rapidfire
Please let me have an exact report (e.g. share a clip that shows the exact steps leading to the issue).
Best,
Lars
I sure a looking forward to that update. Making music is pretty painful right now !
@LFS, it might be a good move to add a proper browser and port some of Cubase sample packs to Cubasis, you can do a in app purchase.
Hi all,
Cubasis 3.8.2 has been released today.
