If they did believe iPad musicians don’t exist they would not have developed LP4i. But maybe LP4i as proven them that ipad musicians really do not exist. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏼♂️
perhaps we don't
perhaps we don't deserve to
perhaps they're trying to snuff us out
perhaps they're jealous of us
“God the music these guys make sucks. Bringing LP to iPad was a mistake”
There are in the desktop world, yes. Irrespective, for some time now I have realised that for me a (non-subscription) desktop DAW is what I need to make the music I do - Logic was as close as it got to me transitioning, but that’s over now.
Glad that logic pro didn't worked to me. I have had it for one year but never been able to complete a track. Way too powerful for my needs, and too many options, menus...
I'm not against the subscription model (I have the Adobe Suite for my day job) but at $13/month it would be ok only if i absolutely need it, and i don't.
Putting on my glass half full hat. Maybe Logic being part of a bundle will bring new people to use it who got the bundle for visual media in the first place.
Is the average iPad user more inclined to use it for visual media? Are we the minority?
I seriously miss the days when if you wanted something you just went out and bought it. No bullshit, just straightforward handing over a medium of exchange for goods and services.
The bourgeoisie doesn't want the working class to own anything anymore. Expect everything to eventually move to subscription or "renting".
I mean it was never "ownership" really when it came to software, but the move towards a real rental treadmill bums me out. Enshittification has come for Apple now too. They're getting every dime they can get from selling hardware, and now have to push on recurring revenue streams (i.e. rent-seeking, content, and services) to keep the growth curve going. There was a time, I would have said, when Apple was culturally resistant to enshittification, but that time is behind us now.
There will be a nice discount for college students and teachers: US$3/month, $30/year for the suite.
Silver lining for those in any kind of marketing adjacent business, I guess you get Logic as a business expense since it is bundled with other creative apps now.
Except for NanoStudio 3 😁🤪
Apple is a computer, retail service company - Steinberg is a music company.
For music apps on iPad/iOS there are plenty of really great choices that don’t involve Logic. Love me a bit of BM3, have been revisiting Cubasis and quite honestly a professional level mix can be completed in there. AUM, Drambo, NS2 still going, Audio Evolution Mobile, Zenbeats, Loopy Pro. Not to mention all the fantabulous plugins made by great people. I don’t know why we have given Logic this much of our time and money.
Have never had an Apple rep comment here and with all this subscription stuff it’s still buggy. Easy decision….step away from the cookie jar….it’s all smoke and mirrors.
Quite good reflection on the situation...

Apple has to ramp up the delivery of both content, features and bug-fixes to justify the subscription...
The edu price is a no-brainer if you qualify.
Very divisive, this bundle.
For people making music AND video who don’t have the desktop versions, and anyone lucky enough to get the edu discount, it’s a decent deal.
For hobby musicians who already have Logic on desktop and don’t need pro (ish) movie making software, it’s an almost 3x more expensive monthly punch in the face.
After over a decade of substantial iOS music app spending, my wallet is now firmly closed to iOS only apps. If the don’t work on desktop, I ain’t interested.
Well yeah, that’s only exeption but that would be very personal 🤣
Seems you can still sub to Logic with the old concept i.e not using the new offerings. As usual a lot of misinformation going around from "I know it all" people..
I think that comment is a bit cynical and overly harsh. Patrick from GarageBand Guide was the source of that info and seems to have connections at Apple, as he's on beta for Logic Pro. I doubt he'd have said that unless he'd been told by someone in the know. If the single logic sub is still available, that's good news, but perhaps it's slated to be removed at some time. Or if there was error, it certainly wasn't intentional I'm sure
Really? I’m not seeing any way to do that. It’s just offering me the new creator studio subscription.
I can still see the old prices here (UK), but no bundle option, so maybe it hasn’t been updated here yet.
That’s weird, I’m in the U.K. too. Did you already have it installed? Mine is a fresh install from the app store
Those options still seem to be present but for how long?
Just updated the iOS/iPadOS versions of Keynote and Pages to their new versions and thankfully there's no 'shove subscription down my throat' pop ups, only when I try to open one of the premium templates does the subscription pop-up pop show upso no worries about updating the apps on iOS devices. On Mac they are a separate download...
Yeah, curiously, I noted that the (non-subscription) Mac apps keep their old app icons, and all the apps on iPad get new (not very good IMO) icons. Not sure what to read into that, other than signaling that there will ultimately not be a non-bundled version on iPad.
I had it installed previously, but it's not installed currently. Still showing the old prices...
I wonder if the old sub is available to those of us still on older versions of iOS, since we can't install the new bundle? That'd be an interesting turn up...
Oh, do you mean the old prices are listed on the App Store? I’m still seeing them there but I think that’s just the way in app purchases are listed. Previous prices don’t get removed from the listing.
I can’t see any way to get the old prices from inside the app itself.
Ah right, yeah I'm just seeing the in-app prices listed on the Store description. I'm still on 16x on this particular iPad (tried updating a few weeks ago but it kept bombing out), so couldn't install LP anyway.
I'll probably install the update on my Mac though, be handy to extract the chord sequences from my old Max Bygraves records.
Just updated the old suite of Apple apps (Pages, Numbers, and I don't use Keynote so that one is off my mobile devices) and I have to say I absolutely hate the redesign. Whoever signed off on this mess should be fired, if they haven't already quit.
