Consider yourself very lucky. I just use this topic to remind people that we live in full fascism now, especially the ones that try to avoid the news. You gotta keep yourself informed during these times. It's extremely important. I don't interact with the magats, they're nothing more than annoying mosquitoes.

    Maybe not lucky enough!

I’m actually residing in Sweden with immigrant parents where the far-right party founded by a veteran Nazi SS officier has over 20% of the votes, every 5th person here votes for them…

So there is a fair share of stupid nationalist motherfuckers here too! 🤬

So while I’m really thankful not to encounter any delusional larger than life loud mouth patriotic ”christian” MAGAts with their white supremacy USA exceptionalism bullshit their nationalist nazi brothers here, who BTW love Trump, have way too much influence already!
Sweden Democrats are as democratic and pro democracy as the Nazi National-Socialists were pro socialism and socialists: 0%

It's a tale as old as time, and white people fall for it every time. The rich steal all the money and resources, there's very little money for the working class to fight over so far right politicians come in and start blaming immigrants. It's not the rich billionaire that stole your money and food, it's the brown immigrant over there who also works for a living and can barely make ends meet.

The rich have us fight over crumbs while they eat the entire cake. That's why a French-style revolution is required like every 50 years, everywhere, to cleanse the planet from these greedy bastards that are nothing more than parasites.

Where are the Republicans on the forum on this? Do they also think it crossed a line and means he is unfit to lead? Or are they OK with it?

They are terrified of losing the Trump vote, so they say nothing.

If the Reps do badly in the November mid-terms then they will realise that Trump is an electoral liability and they will turn on him.

Trump's power could drop dramatically after November. They hunter may even become the hunted.

This isn’t a white people only problem. It is a wealth and power dynamics problem. The same thing happens in countries that aren’t white majority also.

That’s a fair point: framing it stricting as an issue with one group in particular creates a criticism of that group that may be unfairly distributed to many that are not the problem.

I had a college friend tell me “If you are not a part of the solution then you are part of the problem.” I interpreted that “you” personally since we were discussing race relations and I wasn’t being active towards a solution and declared my innocence.
She persisted to get me to understand that I was still complicit even without doing anything but simply as a function of my race.

It’s a hard lessen to accept but a daily reality for any oppressed people… help or you are a part of their problem.

I take this lesson with me into the evaluation of this hard-line immigration policy: “Do unto others…”

  • espiegel is correct, but currently, the countries with the most far-right activity against immigrants are the US, Sweden, France, Poland, Germany, England and Australia. All majority-white countries.

Ultimately this is the chickens coming home to roost. For too long these European countries and the US have destabilized these black and brown countries, which has caused the mass migration of brown and black people.

I'm not saying the mass migrations are sustainable but I don't blame these people, I blame the imperialism of the 1500s to date. But ultimately, the bourgeoisie class wants you to think that there isn't enough money and resources to go around. Until people realize that Musk, Bezos and their ilk are the true enemy and not Jesus Lopez who does their gardening, then things might start changing.

  • That's the thing though, the working class in the US isn't even comfortable. Most of us are one paycheck away from being homeless and thanks to our greedy medical system, we are one medical emergency away from being bankrupt or in debt for the rest of our lives. People in the US have been indoctrinated to think that capitalism is good for them while the rich steal from the poor and that better things aren't possible.

It is indeed ridiculous that people are falling for this bs all over again, and that it's the main driver of support for the far right, over and over again. The rich buy the media and use it to make one section of workers blame another section of workers, instead of them. 'Wake up dummies' lol

    Not always.

Left wing unions have expressed concerns over immigrants taking jobs of locals.

For example, in the UK the Union movement was right behind Enoch Powell over this issue in the 1970s.

The phrase "Enoch was right" is heard today.

Yeah - no black people or Hispanics voted for Trump, not a single one.

When it comes to racial dynamics it's complicated.

I will say that plenty of White people were upset and showed up to BLM rallies, and other protests related to events where black people were shot, and I'm thinking of the ones that put themselves in harm's way like those shot by Kyle Rittenhouse. To me, that is proof that there are many who give a damn.

On the other hand, I think the criticism of not giving a damn about marginalized people's life applies very well to MAGA, and it may very well be that the fact that people who look like the majority of them is playing a part in their ability to finally empathize. As an aside, I saw plenty of dehumanizing language against Renee Good and my impression is that her sexual orientation immediately "othered" her to others. As far as we know, Alex Pretti was a cis white man, so I can't rule out that this figures into the calculus.

But, as someone else mentioned (maybe offbrands), the fact that all of a sudden Trump and his lackeys were sounding very anti-2A also figures a lot into the changing attitudes.

I will also say that while I get the criticisms of White allies, which were relatively loud prior to this administration, I personally would rather have imperfect allies, than what we have now. The idea that "at least open racists are honest" that I've heard in the wild rings kind of hollow now that these openly racist troglodytes have gained the levers of power.

Yeah - no black people or Hispanics voted for Trump, not a single one.

It's true that there were plenty who did.

It's hard to infer why, but I imagine some issues overrode whatever negative feelings they might have felt regarding Trump's and MAGA's racialized rhetoric. There might also have been a feeling of "exceptionalism" for some who went for Trump, which I personally think is always misplaced given the history with the far-right wing of conservatism, but also given the warnings concerning Project 2025. I mean, Trump did lie to the voters, but what do you expect from someone who has lied more than your usual politician.

Supposedly, a lot of exit polls had people talking about the economy. It's hard to tell how many of those who responded this way were POC. Either way, I personally find this to be due to an unsophisticated understanding of the economy. They felt the squeeze of inflation during the Biden admin and wrongly attributed it to his policies, as opposed to appreciating that his policies were helping to battle it. (It's a bit like how average workers aren't really recognized when their efforts keep an operation running smoothly).

  • As much as it hurts to hear it, yes, white people are the only majority voting bloc that can be considered triple Trumpers. Without white people you don't get Trump in 2016 and definitely not in 2024. Without white people you don't get decades of Republicans slowly getting us to the point where we're at now.

With that said, Trump won in 2026 because dumbass brown and black people voted for him, and support amongst white people actually decreased, especially white women. But it was mostly my people, brown people that fucked it up. I have people that voted for him in my extended family and they are complete idiots. They think that white supremacy extends to them but many also falsely believed that Trump would be better for the economy. As brown people are now realizing, especially the Cubans, is that Trump doesn't give a fuck about them and will happily deport them.

I just don't want people to pretend like the far-right, anti-immigrant movements that we're seeing in Europe and Australia are not chiefly initialized by white people. There will always be black and brown people that join those hateful movements because they think that they will be spared but it's never a majority of brown and black people.

More than ever, minorities and white allies need to be united against the far-right onslaught that is coming for us. There's more of us than the hateful bigots.

  • The US has a history of doing things like this.  Many citizens were deported to Mexico just for looking like a certain way.  Many were killed too.

I get AI generated vibes from this video, sounds like the entire voice over is AI, probably the visuals too. It also has YouTube's synthetic content tag

I don't know if the visual or voice in the video are Ai, but the actual story about the lawsuit is true.

Michael Wolff has been interviewed many times about this lawsuit. He has actually asked his viewers on The Daily Beast podcast to sumit questions for him to ask Melania.

Yes, a quick Google revealed that. Worth pointing out though that we need to be extra cautious as to what we share in this age of AI fakery!

Agreed, though the videos can be a good explainer of sorts.

Here is a news article about the lawsuit so people can skip google if they want: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/author-michael-wolff-files-suit-melania-trump-jeffrey-epstein-threat-rcna239257

Either way, this is going to be a great test against the Trump's strategy of silencing critics by suing for ridiculous amounts of money. Someone should have taken a stand long ago, especially the media companies. Defamation suits are notoriously hard to prove.

Edit with the actual paperwork hosted on a very reliable source: https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/michael-wolff-melania-trump-slapp-ocr.pdf

New York has one of the strongest Anti-SLAPP statuses, so this might not go well for the Clown Queen.

You know, I didn't pick up that it was Ai generated. But I did think to myself "that presenter hasn't made a single "um, er" or mistake in his entire read.
