And then there’s S_nV_x
(And as with Dr_mb_ not everyone’s cup of mead)
You are right.
Drambo isnt a DAW but a groovebox.
Id like to leave photos though.
Quite artistic in design from Giku and Beepstreet.
Without much thought
Would like to have:
Tempo automation. Mixed time signatures. Multiple midi track piano roll view. Extensive midi/keyboard gui and workflow control.
Would be amazing:
Notation view.
It really would. I would still want instanced midi clips (events as they call them)... uhh unless they did eventually add this, haven't checked.
If I understand what you mean here these are all features of Multitrackstudio although there may be some other stuff you wouldn’t find…
Yeah I tried it once. Can't remember what exactly I didn't like about it but maybe something to do with the workflow. I'm happy enough with cubasis for now.
In terms of current practical use I actually need a multi-track recorder which is easy to use - I’ve been recording myself playing various trumpet/cornet and mouthpiece combinations in the hunt for the sound I want. I’m quite happy with Cubasis 3 for this, but might add BFM at some point to be able to see a meter more clearly at a distance.
More broadly, being a heading-for-old-boy I’d like to match, say Cubase 2/3 MIDI features and late Cubase VST audio, which means with Cubase 3 I miss:
It is a strange one, for many reasons, workflow (and Brutalist GUI) included. The feature list is incredible but dev dude has an “interesting” way of getting there. Has literally taken me years to get to some kind of fluidity.
Oh I forgot about floating plugin windows. That’s actually big. I really don’t like when you can’t have an instrument and an effect open at the same time. Logic Pro in particular drives me nuts on this. Very clunky to do any sound design.
To add I would like to see folder tracks, to be able to manage projects.
Here’s what I want:
So:
1.NS2 with audio
Or
2.Xequence with obsidian built in and audio
Or
3.Logic:
Options 1 and 2 are not available. Beginning to think option 3 won’t be either.
