Korg Module Pro new Expansion - Pure Guitar Magic

I know the recently released Soprano pack was a bit of a letdown for some people (I found it super useful myself, but ymmv), but I downloaded Pure Guitar Magic and fell in love with how good they sound.

My recommendation is this in Gadget is "Pure Guitar Magic" could be useful for soaring electric guitar solos overtop Santa Ana and those acoustic drumsets Korg released into Module Pro. Outside of Gadget, you could use those acoustic drums in Module Pro, or you could use Klevgrand's OneShot for the acoustic drums to accompany Pure Guitar Magic and Santa Ana.

Either way, rock on, mates. 🤘

  • @jwmmakerofmusic Jim, I noticed the update in the App Store. Can you maybe produce a short sample of it?

Can I?! Well of course, mate. :)

SO, the drums are that Osaka gadget (it's like OneShot Lite, but can be used on iPhone as well haha), the "chugging" backing guitars are Santa Ana, the synth is Pompeii (iPolysix), and finally the star of this show is one of the presets from the new Module sound pack "Pure Guitar Magic". Yeah, that new sound pack is definitely aptly named.

  • Yes, it's obvious you can :) Thanks, it sounds awesome, Jim. I think Korg Gadget 3 and Module Pro are underestimated, it can do so much.

  • Sounds pretty good to me. I tried the demo and decided the intro price or sale price was a good deal at USD $9.99. If you have Korg Gadget the presets are available in the Glasgow Gadget under Guitar/Plucked with Kelfar in the name.

FYI - This could be a problem with my own setup, but after updating Korg Module and Korg Gadget, I had to reinstall the Gadgets from Korg Module again to get this one and the other gadgetized ones to show up.

  • Played around with the demo and it sounds good. Probably buy it as it is a nice addition to Gadget.

I do wish Gadget’s “Play page” had pitchbend and mod-wheel. Not sure why they didn’t include that on the left side.
Might send Korg a request for that.

  • I love the soprano expansion- it was expensive, but it sounds fantastic. I use it a lot.

The FRms vocal one is really good for $6.99 whenever it goes on sale. That one's pretty impressive. Highly recommend. I always download the demo's on module pro just to see what I can do with them.

Sopranotron2 is one of my favorite voice synths, very good stuff.

Thanks mate. :) And yes, I absolutely love Korg Gadget and Module Pro. I sample into Koala from Module Pro often for Ambient works.

Really?! I didn't have that issue here, but then again, iOS can be finicky at times.

I'd definitely consider sending Korg a request. Sounds like a good addition. I wouldn't use the play page myself, but I know it'd be super beneficial to those who do. ❤️

Nice! I'll have to consider the FRMS one. But I too love the Soprano Expansion. It's perfect for sampling into Koala Sampler for vocal-related Ambient works. :)

  • Just downloaded th3 guitar demo- super disappointing to me. I have some really good acapella / vox stuff shared if you wanna take a look @jwmmakerofmusic

Sure. I'd love to listen. Just send a DM. :)

And, I for one am loving the shit out of this Pure Guitar Magic pack. I expanded the above demo into intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, repeat intro. Will post that elsewhere since I want this thread to focus solely on the pack. :)

  • Thanks for posting..I found it in Module but it’s not yet in Module Pro in the US..Module just kills it…What a useful app that’s become and this new guitar collection does not disappoint ..

Not yet in Module Pro in the US, mate? I'm in the Midwest. I think you may need to update Module Pro and Gadget first via the Appstore. 😅 But yeah mate, Gadget and Module Pro always kill it! $10 well spent.

  • Ahh, you’re right . I just updated Module Pro, thanks .. The “Wild Drums” are just unbelievable…

Damn. The curse of being a guitar player. Nothing but the real thing ever sounds right.
Ahh well, at least I don't need sophisticated piano apps. The cheap stuff is fine for me. 😂

    They truly are, mate. :)

    Lol! Fair play. :)

  • I too had to delete and reinstall for this to show up.

Forgive my ignorance, but where are these Wild Drums of which you speak?

Another expansion in Module Pro and is available in the Osaka drum gadget. :)

I’ve found the only way I’ll be happy with a guitar sound is from a guitar. Really only from my guitar. I’d agree on piano but my copy of Pianoteq costs more than my MIDI controller.

  • So you can only access Glasgow in gadget 3 if you own korg module?

To add - Glasgow is a Gadget that can contain multiple instrument collections. Glasgow has several sounds built in and through Korg Module I also have presets for the Korg M1 and now the Kelfar Guitars that are made available.

  • What’s a name of one of the Wild Drum presets? I keep Module Pro updated, but don’t update Gadget.

Telstar 2020 is one of the presets in Wild Kits, and a bunch of others have similar names. Keep in mind, though that only a couple of Korg Module sounds have been gadgetized. The ones I know of are M1 and now the Kelfar guitars. I do find it a bit confusing the way Korg labels things in different products.

That’s incorrect. All Module sounds (including the packs) are available in Gadget. They show up in their corresponding gadgets (Glasgow, Fairbanks, Salzburg, etc).

BTW, I think the M1 pack is a bad deal. For a little bit more you get the full iM1 app, with way more sounds (also AUv3 and
    Universal).

Oh, it’s an IAP. I thought it was a free drum kit like Osaka.

i access the Osaka drums thru Module Pro

Yeah, I bought the M1 pack so you don't have to. Nothing in there that iM1/Darwin doesn't do better to be honest, lol.

I do agree with you on the confusion regarding all the packs, Ed.
When Korg release a Module packs they simultaneously put out a Gadget update where they mention in which gadget the new pack appears. But when someone buys a pack at a later stage it’s not always obvious where the new sounds can be found in Gadget.

Yet another thing to be added to your spreadsheet? Jk ;)

  • surprisiningly bought almost all Korg packs. Need to testdrive especially this guitar pack with crushstation and some granular, crushing, lush reverbs - maybe to make video of that? And share it, if I get good enough results Br, TheTemplateDude
