Very interested as well, PM’d
It's fun exploring percussion repeats in it.
nerd's high hat preset, max repeat in Housebud and then run that machine gun sound thru ShredderFX, Koshiba, or your preferred gate - finally automate the volume via CC7, you can get some very interesting perc fodder for your drums.
That looks very convenient. I love to audition progressions and this is great. Tonality pads are great too but sometimes you don't know what you want to put in them pads.
It’s fun and free to test. You can’t lose.
A huge update is live! Velocity and pad trigger mode settings added.
I think this is it. Please let me know any bugs, specially on multiple pads mode, with UI&MIDI triggering, latch modes etc.
I'll push it to the store if everything is fine.
Im a sucker for a Good chord app. Would love to try this this thing out. Ill DM you @cem_olcay
Had a quick play on the iPad, and in Logic (Mac), haven’t spotted any issues so far.
Bloody brilliant app.
I think so too! Curious to see how those just getting in on it feel! Please post your thoughts/feels...
Enjoying the strum feature in particular - really good coupled with World Piano on the iPad.
On desktop, I’ve used a virtual port to send the output to a MIDI track in Live. Bit of a juggle with two windows open, so I’ll probably stick with IDAM (not an issue with the app, Ableton doesn’t support AU MIDI).
Will check out the tutorial next…
The manual is online too
https://keybudapp.com/housebud-manual.html
Had a mess around with the strum feature of HouseBud and SteelGuitarPro last night. Great stuff, apps a pleasure to use 🤙
The manual is exceptional, you'll learn way more from it than the tutorial. I'm not a big manual head- but this was a pleasure to run thru and easy to retain. Fantastic manual.
It explains the variation characteristics, how the harmony engine works, code examples.
Totally agree, based on the manual, I’ll buy it!
Very nice @Squishy
That was amazing. Definitely going to buy this one.
I just read about the Harmony engine. I guess my ears are worse than i thought. Everything I’ve heard so far sounds like far interval jumps and not very musical as something like chordmaps2 or the slimmed down iPhone companion, ChordmapsMIDI.
Unless you guys are using this wrong. Aren’t you supposed to work left to right?
Ya, probably
btw @Squishy, with delay/reverb was it that you activated? SteelGuitarPro sounds good too, to my non-guitar playing ears.
Dubstation2
Reverb was one of the springs in Walls, I forget which one
The voicing options are configurable, many of the presets using the "nearest" voices and inversions. The randomizer is, well, randomized
You can create a preset or edit the current one with the compose/edit button next to the presets button at the bottom toolbar, even do A/B testing creating the same chord progression with different settings 👍
It's ChatGPT, i'm not gonna lie
But I know exactly what I want, that's why I'm getting super high quality output 👍
Looks like this could be useful in a live scenario or for improvising. Very interesting!
@cem_olcay Can we map those chord pads to velocity sensitive pad controller and play different octaves depending on the way we trigger the pads?
@cem_olcay any beta slots still available? I sent you a DM.
@cem_olcay Wondering if different inversions would be more useful than different octaves?
Kinda wanted it to work with launchpad x, as x is near my piano ( ipad is not )
Realised app has different elements per pad and switching custom modes wont do.
Will buy the app though.
Yes, you can map your external MIDI controllers. The first pad is triggering with C2 (36) note by default, but you can change it on the settings menu. Every other next note triggers the next slice on the pad, then it moves to the next pad etc. It respects to the incoming MIDI velocity too 👍
Been having a lot of fun with this @cem_olcay! More testing to do, but so far, no issues, and I love the chord inversions so readily available for every chord. Brilliant app as most of your apps are! Will definitely be purchasing when released!
Well then perfect ! I will hook it to a pad controller!
Thank you! Can’t wait for the release!
The app has been released! The app review time was much more faster, glad they sort it out.
