V1.0.5 update is out!
Are long loading times as an AUv3 maybe to be expected with the Everything Bundle installed? I get up to 29 secs per instance inside of Zenbeats… no other app is even close. Using SM Player 1.0.5 and iOS 26.4.2 on an iPad Air M1.
Anyone else?

Almost instant in AUM and AEMS 😎✌🏼 ipad A16 26.4.2 SMP 1.0.5
Yeah, it loads really fast in AUM for me as well. Must be something with Zenbeats, contacted Roland.

You can also send me SM3 Player logs
I still experience crackling sounds when I switch presets in Loopy Pro, I'm on version 1.0.5.
@kv331audio_bulent, I don't know if anyone else reported this issue, there seems to be a bug on start up of the app in standalone, when you start the app the UI goes to the old version then with over to the new look.
Not a bug, that is the launch screen
Not much I can do about that. loading presets in a modular & multiengine synth like SynthMaster is not a trivial task.
Do we not pay for software and beta test software, so you can tackle these exact kinds of tasks?
...who wants a synth that crackles when you change presets..or a dev that just hand waves them away?
You're talking about Synthmaster 4 while being worried about sales of 3 and not caring about its problems...
Excuse me? Do you have any slightest idea what happens behind the scenes when a preset is being loaded ? I am talking about TECHNICAL LIMITATIONS IN MULTITHREADED EXECUTION.
Who said I don't care about issues? Please watch your language
Hi @kv331audio_bulent,
Please be assured we are not all of this mindset.
Mike🍻
+1 the app is awesome! 😎✌🏼
For what little its worth:
I don't think the tone, of expectance, is productive or polite, but, justaglove's response to your response was after you said "not much I can do about that" – that can be read as hand waving away. Whether or not we understand what's going on under the hood, doesn't change what strikes them and I think also me as basic requirement, for a synth to not crackle when we change presets because specifically we are using these in live performance, hence in Loopy Pro, and we do a lot to take out of the equation anything that like that, in just the same way that a record would never get released with those crackles left in a recording. Thus, if SM3 is always going to crackle when changing presets it's almost certainly going to get ignored by performers, or at least by some of us.
I appreciate your work, I appreciate the synths that are incredibly mammoth undertakings, I'm sure we all do. Even when we complain a lot. Engaging the forums is always a recipe for everyone being annoyed with each other, not least as software devs and users alike are all human, all going through something, all on some spectrum or other and don't much like other humans even on good days etc. In between the not expressing it politely though I imagine was the frustration that something potentially Phase Plant like on ipad might not be fit for our purposes if things we find that make it unusable are deemed as not much can be done about. I don't want your job. Every negative comment would ruin my day. I'm grateful you engage us. It might be you shouldn't! Every dev needs a bot who does an @ultracello like job of translating/sanitizing annoyed feedback in to non triggering language, and devs only update us when things are fixed. If they remain un-fixed so be it.
Hi @Fantastic,
Expertly and politely said 👌
Mike
I just want to clarify that I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just pointing out problems that I notice, since the synth has just been launched I assume it might still need a few things ironed out. I understand that some problems make be impossibly hard to fix and I'm already perfectly happy with the synth as is. That said, crackles do get noticeable during live performance, especially since I change sound very often. So far I haven't come up with a proper solution inside Loopy Pro (I tried muting the synth before switching preset and ramping up the sound ), but I'm hopeful
I know that this issue is a showstopper during live performances. So, I am trying to come up with a "working" solution. Currently testing with different fadein/fadeout times for preset loads. So basically, before preset load starts the engine fades out the playing audio, and waits until the fade out finishes, then loads the new preset, and then the master volume fades in. this should hopefully eliminate crackles. Works pretty well for 50 milliseconds fadein/fadeout durations.
Maybe I can make this fadein/fadeout duration a global parameter under settings ?
But then, there are some presets with multiple layers + drum sequences which take a long time to load. They cause crackles, such as:
DRM Acoustic Kit 1
Avoid using those during live performances.
This is great news ! Honestly I don't even know if this should not be the default behaviour, 50ms to change preset is no time at all (my other synths are way slower), but if that is a settings option that's really fine too.
Of course it's perfectly understandable that some heavily layered presets won't be completely silent when switched on / off, and not every preset if fit for live performance anyway. But I think with 8000 choices we can afford to look for a substitute in those cases
Thank you so very much for taking the time to make all those minute adjustments, but the result is worth it !
It was already in place, but I now made 3 changes:
This sounds great, let me know if I can help test it somehow, I'm out of beta right now since the builds tend to come up to the appstore right away, but I can get it back up if needed
Any update on this update
? Would love to see the problem fixed, for me that's the only reason that makes me miss Synthmaster 2.
I did further testing to make sure that the problem went away. BTW, I am also making changes in SM2 (merging code from SM3), so it took a while. 0.5 seconds fadeout followed by 1 sec fadein works well. Hopefuly on Monday night I will upload new updates for both SynthMaster 2 and SynthMaster 3 Player!
Great news ! Thanks for taking the time to test it thoroughly, I suppose it's a lot of work trying to reproduce the plugin behaviour when hosted in different apps. And nice to see that Synthmaster 2 gets a bit or a rework, this synth is still really great despite being somewhat eclipsed by SM3 now.
Finally ready to submit v1.0.6 on the AppStore:
v1.0.6 Build 17238
NEW FEATURES:
BUG FIXES:
That's great ! I'm waiting on the appstore to reflect the change so that I can apply the update. Will there be a fix also for the maximum available memory in auv3 host like you mentioned on SM2 ? That would be a good safeguard as the plugin tends to crash regularly when I switch presets a lot, probably due to this memory constraint.
Yes I added that to SM2 as well, and submitted a new build for SM2 a minute ago
I still don't see the update in the appstore. Is there a problem with my region (EU) ?
It’s still not available in the UK yet
1.0.6 is not approved yet.
