  • Hi @cem_olcay , the pads work fine but the main mod buttons (repeat, strum and arp) don’t work when I map them in AUM midi settings.

  • Awesome stuff @eylvy.

    Congrats @cem_olcay

Binarythmic is still my all time fav. A Binarythmic 2 would be cool. :)

  • @cem_olcay I'm not sure if this fits with your vision for the app, but a nice thing to have would be to be able to strum "manually", i.e. holding the chord does nothing but provide a surface to play the notes, sort of like a Omniharp. Ideally, the individual notes would have some sort of velocity mapping. This could even be sent through another MIDI out so chords and picked notes could go to separate instruments.

    Thanks for the app!

The app has been released! The app review time was much more faster, glad they sort it out.

Bought! Congrats on another gem of a Bud Cem!

Maybe you already know, but Chord Pads inside the Tonality app does this, minus the separate midi for picked notes. Also it’s an Audio Unit.

    I did not, thanks!

    Another thank you!

  • Would love it if the standalone could loop a short pattern. But I realise it's not really the point of the app.

Sure @Grandbear and @JeffChasteen , but know that unlike Cem’s app, you have to provide Chords Pads with the chords first, with is easy, but it’s not a chord/cadence generator.

  • Does this do anything Scaler 3 doesn’t do?

It’s fast, direct, and not at all complicated. It’s made for quick exploration not, like scaler3, for - at this point whole song composition with multiple parts. I hope I don’t offend but your question is like asking “does a Volkswagen Bug do anything a Ferrari doesn’t do?”

  • Wow it's already made top 5 - top 10 in many countries without any youtube exposure, thanks 🔥
Please also consider leaving a review or a rating, you can access them from the settings menu easily 🙏

  • @cem_olcay I just downloaded this app and I really like it! I wrote a review in the App Store.

  • @audiblevideo :No offense taken at all, in fact that REALLY answered my question..Thanks, mate

  • I’m curious: how is this app different from ChordPolyPad and the chord pads in Tonality? I’m asking, not challenging.

I’d say ease of use. I haven’t found a great workflow of choosing chords/creating progressions and transferring them to pads with Tonality. It’s a lotta switching between different menus/“modules”, where as HouseBud is great at getting progressions going quickly and tweaking from there if need be. There’s even a randomize button if you just wanna jump in to some new ideas from the get go. And imo it’s friendlier for a music theory dunce such as myself while Tonality requires more knowledge to use effectively.
I don’t own ChordPolyPad so can’t speak in regards.

  • Chordpolypad is similar to Tonality with having to create your own chords @dokwok2 and @Squishy . It’s simpler. Just pads with the ability to strum, from what i remember.

Tonality’s strum feature is different in that you can pick/strum the playing surface. But I agree with @Squishy regarding finding an easy workflow for adding chords from a library to either app. Even though i don’t own House Bud, that aspect seems to be the advantage. The gating ability is a nice touch too.

  • Guess I overlooked the Tonality strum feature, just tried it out. Pretty neat! Almost like Omniharp territory. Thanks for pointing that out @Blipsford_Baubie

  • Does anyone know if this will record to GR2’s Piano roll or do you have to use the same work around you do with Tonality?

Sure thing! Are you able to play a chord into a pad by any chance to teach it, in the same way you can with Tonality? Or is it strictly a chord library?

Don’t believe so. MIDI input can be used to play the pads, but I don’t think you can “fill” them with input.

  • One thing I'm missing, @cem_olcay , are the little pattern switchers at the bottom like your other Bud apps. Also it's not connected with BrainBud for quick changes of key, etc.
Still, it has it's own unique qualities which I like.

    I’d upvote this idea

Like the white ui. I really dig that.

  • Plz give resume, whats the intelligent part? I’ve been struggeling half mi life to get Tonality pads to work on iphone, it just scales so poorly it drives me insane.
    Have you tried tonality?
Thing is, I dont want to cheat, I dont want it just to give me cool chords, rather if I can be somehow part in picking them, thats cool.
    Does it do recognision?

  • Perhaps I can suggest changing the title of this post? I'd been waiting for the release notice. Anyway, bought it, and looking forward to playing with it.

Maybe put the link in the OP for convenience if you wanna go the extra mile. I had to sift a bit to find it. Which my lazy ass could’ve just opened the App Store but here’s the link from earlier:
