I like it! :-) It is a big improvement over Playbeat 3 on the iPad for me.

It looks the best of the playbeat series but after buying 2 and 3, I decided to pass on 4, at least for now. My impression of PB4 was that the randomization and beat generation was improved.

Right on. Mr Bell is known for these flash sales, so If you really want Riffler Flow on sale I’d recommend using appraven or one of several “app wishlist” type apps to send you a notification if the Riffler Flow price changes. That way you would hopefully get the notification earlier than you might see it shared in this thread.

Since the sale is short, sometimes less then 24 hours, combined with time differences around the world, and the fact that i don't typically catch sales exactly when they happen, it can leave enough latency for people to miss this type of quick sale.

Pretty much every app sales reporting source has a tough time keeping up with all the pricing changes. The sheer volume of apps creates issues. Don't get me wrong they do an amazing job, but all of them occasionally miss an app, or have a delay in reporting price changes. I sometimes report sales on App Raven, before they catch the discount. I believe some of the wishlist apps available will regularly check on the specific app to see if the price changed and notify you. If not, I think an Apple Shortcut would do the trick too.

Good luck, hope you get the next one. Cheers!

Developers that do that with their apps aren’t really interested in giving anybody any discounts are they?
The globe is more than one time zone. So this 24 hour app sale thing is a bit of a joke.

Bit Crusher is new and currently $1.99, AUv3 Quantizer & Decimator

    App Store Description
A digital degradation effect that combines two classic forms of lo-fi distortion: bit depth reduction (quantization) and sample rate reduction (decimation). Together they emulate the character of early digital samplers, 8-bit consoles, and vintage hardware with limited converter resolution.

The signal is first quantized to a reduced number of bits, introducing the harsh harmonic distortion known as quantization noise. It is then resampled at a lower effective rate using a sample-and-hold stage, producing aliasing artifacts above the new Nyquist frequency.

  • New Release

Circle of Thirds is new and free with a $9.99 Pro IAP

    App Store Description
Circle of Thirds is a music theory app for exploring chords, scales, and intervals on a circular diagram. The seven notes of the scale sit at fixed positions around the circle, so you can see how chords relate to each other as you play them. Tap a note to play a chord built from the current scale. Pick a chord shape, change the mode, swipe a chord to move it through a voicing.

    MODES AND SCALES
Pick major or minor. The major mode uses the major scale. The minor mode combines the natural and harmonic minor: the 7th degree sharpens dynamically when you play a chord on the 5th degree, so common minor progressions like i–VII–VI–V work as expected. Melodic minor is included by default.

The scale uses seven fixed letter names, with accidentals that update based on the mode you pick. Changing the root rotates the seven notes so each scale degree always stays in the same position on the circle.

    CHORD TYPES
Triads, 7ths, 9ths, sus2 / sus4, add chords, inversions, gap chords. The same chord shape gives different qualities depending on the degree: a "7th" can produce a major 7th, a dominant 7th, a half-diminished, and so on, all built from the pitches in the scale.

    PIN CHORDS TO THE CIRCLE
Tap "+" to pin the current chord type as a small floating button. Drag a button to a different note to change its root. Special buttons cover secondary dominants, parallel triads, and other tonicizations.

    INTERVALS
Active notes are connected by labeled interval lines (P5, M3, d4, m2, and so on). Each interval type can be toggled on or off, with separate colors for the more dissonant ones.

    INPUT
Tap the circle, tap the piano keyboard below it, or plug in a MIDI device. Chord detection figures out the likeliest enharmonic spelling from context, since the same piano key can be B#, C, or Dbb depending on the key and chord.

    VOICE LEADING
The auto-voicer keeps common tones between chords and moves the rest by the smallest step. Swipe a played chord up or down to push the bass higher or lower, or sideways to spread the top voices.

    PRO (one-time purchase)
    A one-time Pro purchase unlocks:
    • Chord Bank: save chords and recall them with a tap
    • Advanced voice leading: bias direction, automatic inversions, smoothing
    • MIDI Out: send chords and notes to an external synth or DAW
    • Alternate circle layouts: thirds, fifths, seconds
    • More scales: harmonic major, neapolitan, gypsy, and other exotic modes
    • Background themes: custom colors and gradients

Free users get 20 voice-leading swipes per day to try the feature.

  • Looks like Rubato got a permanent price drop at the start of the year, I didn’t realize. Although even the sale price now feels too high.

I think I paid $40 at release because of the bundle. I’d say it’s easily worth that, especially as a Mac and iPad app. $9.99 for the OG and $29.99 for Rubato would be a great standard price point.
