    Really ? That's strange, this is one of most legendary vintage synths in history.. maybe broken piece ? These old analogs do suffer by drying out capacitors which then leads to detuned unstable sound.

    Yeah, I wasn’t impressed with the sound, but the guy did have it in his living room on a stand with a Fender Rhodes, running through a mono amp/speaker. To be fair I didn’t have much of a go, but you may be right, it may have needed a service.
    I did used to have NI Pro 52 back in the day and did like it

    Always nice to have cross compatibility with plugins, it’s pretty standard in desktop world even between completely different platforms like Mac and windows, and these days even Linux…

    Here is what Matt said about Repro in response to my comment about Repro-5 being based on a Rev 3 unit. "And, I have nothing but respect for U-He, though I would not use repro-5 as the standard for a true hardware emulation. The PWM and Filter are different than the hardware. (IMHO the most accurate REV 3 filter in this video is the Softtube one). That being said, I love Repro-1 & Repro-5 as unique instruments and I am a happy U-he customer and supporter. Your M1 should be more than fine, this app is more efficient than Super J8 and uses half as much memory as our last ones! :)"

    Me too! I’m super excited about this one but I’ve tried to stop buying auv3s that aren’t Mac compatible. Need to move projects from iPad to desktop for finishing and would rather not have to render. Not everyone’s use case I realise!

    Problem is that trully optimalising plugins for iOS (running on silicon chips) and for desktop (non-silicon chips) are two very different things and needs really significant effort. It's not that easy like people think. For eaxmpla you need to keep some parts of code duplicate besause of som low-level frameworks used for CPU optimlisation which means double work when yu need to fix something or add some feature.

    Apple made it a bit more easier for Macs with Silicon chips - they automatically (as soon as you intentionally don't turn it off when you are building your app) allw your iOS plugins to run on these computers but that is only thanks to fact that MacOS runnin on Silicon chip.

    I get the feeling it’s less back end silicon that’s the issue and more UI that’s the real bottleneck between iDevices and traditional platforms…

    Yes, a lot of it is UI / graphics. But there's also some stuff that's different in CoreAudio, the file system and numerous other platform-specific nitty gritties.

    This challenge is literally why the JUCE Framework exists so you don't have to worry about these things. You get to worry about a whole bunch of different things instead :smile:, but at least those things are cross platform compatible.

    Maybe a macOS version of AudioKit is on a roadmap somewhere, although I've no clue - never used it myself.

    Was gong to pass on this until I heard the presets. The native flute one alone is worth the price, imo. Really thick sounding

    Can you please give me a little more context so I can try to track it down:

    What iOS version and device are you using?
    Are you playing from the onscreen keyboard, a wired MIDI controller, Bluetooth MIDI, or a host like AUM/GarageBand/Logic? Also, does it happen in standalone, AUv3, or both?

    If I can reproduce the exact setup, hopefully I can fix this edge case for you.

    No machine learning on this one. This app was done the old-fashioned way: a lot of listening, tweaking, comparing, and then tweaking again.

    I followed advice I once got from Geert at Moog: close your eyes, turn a knob, and try to recreate the feel and experience in the app.

    Since this is such well-known hardware, I wanted it to feel closer to a serious desktop instrument than a typical mobile synth. The goal was not just to match the sound profile, but to capture the feeling of playing it.

    So far, people seem to be responding to that, which has been really cool to see.

    Back in the day I had a housemate who was a repair person for sequential circuits. He was always bringing Prophets home to work on and experiment with. this was maybe 1978? I might’ve even gotten to play the first version. I was friends with some of those guys, quite a few of them later worked for emu systems

    I just tested both Viral and J6. I got a weird note sustain if you are holding a note down or several notes while switch to a different OSC. For Viral, it does not happen when using the samples only the basic OSC. It does hang or keep sustaining that note and if you hit midi panic it will stop the notes. I can send you a video if you need me to @AnalogMatthew

    I am on an 11” iPad Pro M5 on iOS 26.5

    Yes, J6 and Viral have the bug

    iPadOS 26.5

    Onscreen keyboard, both standalone and AUv3 (hosts keyboard). Tested in GR2 and AUM.

    It only seems to happen with OSC/DCO 1.

    Edit: A bit more testing. It’s not just changing the waveform. I also get the bug if enabling the arpeggiator while holding the key.
